Hi, I'm thinking about buying an '08 Cayman. Below are my thoughts on configuration. Any input/thoughts would be helpful. Also am I better off waiting for 2009? I'm a first time buyer. Thanks

PCM Nav
Telephone Module w/Handset
Multi-function Steering Wheel

Great choices. I would add sport chrono though. It really speeds up throttle response. I believe the 09 engine will be direct injection with a little power bump. Check the June car and driver. Good luck.

Mine is white with Cocoa leather. I think it's a great choice.

Welcome to the board.

If you're in the Tri-State area this Sunday morning, come join us at the Concours event. A bunch of local Cayman owners will be meeting beforehand to drive there as a group. There'll be at least two white Caymans with us. You can get the real scoop on various options from owners rather than salespeople.

Details here:

If you're getting 19" wheels, seriously consider PASM. I have 19's and not getting PASM is my one regret.

+1 (running on 19s with PASM and Sport Chrono)

Originally, I dismissed the PASM as unnecessary, but by good fortune, ended up with it.

Also, you might visit a specialized auto AV shop to compare your needs to the Porsche Phone and NAV as compared to what is available 3rd party, as several member posters have stated some reservation about having Porsche's NAV, finding other vehicles vendors superior, and more cost effective to upgrade, etc., but the factory install is a more clean look most of the time. I don't have either phone or NAV yet, so going on the hearsay I've read here.

Hope you love the car as much...a joy for sure.

Great choice of colour and options. I think the Sport Design wheels are too common now and dificult to keep clean. I would consider the Carrera Sport wheels which are great looking or the 19" Turbo wheels which I have. I think the turbo wheels look good on Carrara White.
