New member of the family

Hi guys. I picked up my first Porsche last weekend. It was a moment I've thought about since I was a teenager. Here's what I got.

2007 Cayman S
Ext: Meteor Grey
Int: Black
Other:
•Heated Sports Seats
•Leather Sport Steering Wheel
Carbon Fiber interior
•ACC
•Bose
•Bi-Xenon Headlamps

I posted some pics of it in the gallery.

It was one of the last new 07's on the lot. I got it from autobahn Porsche here in Fort Worth. Paul, the internet sales guy, was great and made it the easiest, most hassle-free car buying experience ever. They're great folks.

When I picked it up I asked him to go over everything about the car twice and talk slow my brain was only processing about 1/4th of what he was saying. I was so excited. Thankfully I had done a lot of research on this site beforehand to prep myself for the experience.

Review thus far
I'm in awe. The driving experience gets better each time I take her out. So much power and the car *begs* to be driven. The suspension is remarkable. It feels completely planted to road, like it's on rails.

And then there's the shifting. In a way, the CS reminds me of my old Renault Le Car from the 80's; the shifter just naturally goes where it should be. Unlike my Jeep where I have to actively hunt for the gears. I've only driven standards my whole life and this is the most intuitive car I've driven.

Congrats and Welcome to the Swamp!

I'd like to see a pic of that CF interior when you get a chance.

Welcome to the club. I checked out your photos and was hoping to check out the CF interior. Please post a few pictures of your interior when you get a chance. I really like the look of CF. I'm jealous.

The CF wasn't something I was looking but it looks really sharp... sporty yet polished. It also seems resistant to scratching/marring, but time will tell.

I've uploaded some pics but they don't do it justice at all. In the pics, the interior comes across as blue-ish but it's all really black with the CF being black/silvery. And the CF has gloss and depth to it that reflects the flash poorly. Still, I think you get a good idea of it.

if it was blue, the interior would be very "denim blue jeans", esp. b/c of the way the CF looks in the photos.

Congrats!
I love the CF. A bit off topic, but for those of you who haven't seen the CF with cocoa leather, check it out.

Does the Carbon Fibre make it go any faster? If not - what is the point?

Genxr,

Congratulations on your new ride. I haven't been a big fan of CF but it looks like you got a great deal with nice options. Trust me, once the smiling starts, it's hard to remove. Enjoy!
