bought my cayman s last night
ok, so this is probably useless with no pics, but still wanted to share.
Bought my 08 Cayman S last night. Meteor Gray, gray interior (standard seats, etc), black floor mats, (I just liked that, dunno why), Sport Design wheels, tubi, H&R springs, Short throw Shifter, thicker alcantara steering wheel.
I think only option is the heated seats, autodimming mirrors and the Bose... I didn't care about those options, but since they were on the car I wanted, it was fine to have them.
First, of course, I love it.
But a couple thoughts: I did a LOT of searches and reading before I bought, and saw a lot of people say with the 19" wheels the ride is harsh.... HUH? Are you serious? I don't know what cars you usually drive, but the car is fine with the 19" wheels, even on pretty bad roads. That is what I thought a sports car is supposed to fee like.. I actually thought it was pretty smooth (did several test drives in diff cars before I bough)... no problem for me.
ALso, I drove one with 19" and H&R springs and 19" stock suspension back to back twice... and the H&R springs actually IMPROVED the ride on the bumpy backroads IMO. I was pleasantly surprised. ALso, the TUBI exhaust did not strike me as being particularly loud or boomy... it was fine..
So, I will post pics once I get the springs installed and the steering wheel... should be about 10-14 days... for now, just driving as -is while the dealer waits for the parts
I really like this car... its replacing a 06 Mini Cooper S convertible (which I REALLY liked also)
MOD: thanks for moving.. I was not sure where I should post.. sorry about that.

Is this a new car, or a used one. Perhaps used since it comes with the Tubi?

Congrats on the new car!
Funny you mention the ride harshness question because I just put my 18 inch track wheels on and was enjoying the softer ride today during a lengthy commute.
There is a difference, but I agree that if I never ran 18s I would be perfectly happy on my 19s.

yes, plans for DE. And I have a buddy in local BMW club and they have some track days coming up and some classes, etc that he is pushing me to participate in (he is a track junkie). Of course will join PCA and hopefully over time get to know some of the local folks.
the alcantara wheel is from the dealer... yeah, I probably way overpaid for it, but really, I didn't care, just a few things I wanted on the car to make it the way I wanted (since I was not ordering one) so I was willing to pay a bit to have what I wanted.
about the 18" wheels: I really really want to find a set for track days... I am going to start looking now. Don't want to be paying for the tires for the 19's if I really do starting doing some track time.
