Non-BOSE Audio system in Cayman S

I was wondering if someone can tell me how many speakers a non bose cayman has and where their locations are.
I am also curious as to whether or not the Bose system is noticeably better than the base setup.
Last, was Bose ever standard or option only?

The Cayman S has the Sound Package Plus standard with nine speakers.

The info you want is contained here:

Cayman Speaker Size and Place

The Bose System has always been an option I believe. Whether or not the Bose System is "better" is probably in the ear of the listener.

Re: Non-BOSE Audio system in Cayman S

If you have a UK spec car, i.e. like mine, you don't get the luxury of 9 speakers as standard. I believe its 4, and they're only located up front.

I'm wondering if anyone has had it upgraded to 9 from 4???

4 Sound good enough when stationary, but on the move, I'd like a bit more sound from behind.

Exactly right. The base setup in Greek cars is with 4 speakers, just like march said. Kinda wimpy... but then again, the flat 6 is an original soundtrack in itself, so who needs more speakers?

Re: Non-BOSE Audio system in Cayman S

After test driving a few caymans, one with Bose and 2 without. I believe you will find the Bose is crisper, has better bass, and can be turned up louder without distortion than the base audio system. That being said, you're prolly better off with an after market system if you want really good sound.

I bought my car used, so Bose was included in the price. Bose is about a grand on the 09's, is it worth it? Prolly not.

Besides, why would you want to drown out that beautiful symphony playing right behind your ears?
