CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

CDR30 won't dial out a selected Contact's phone numer (from the console) when connected to my Motorola Q smartphone via bluetooth. Pressing the phone icon and "Dial" does nothing. Also can not dial out from Calls In or Calls Out lists either. Otherwise Bluetooth connection works fine to answer calls and when I dial out from the phone itself. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Porsche doesn't list my Q one their list (link below), but Bluetooth is a standard and should be supported regardless of the handset. 2009 Cayman Meteor Gray.

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

So it appears that if you manually enter the number on the CDR30 and it is saved in memory somewhere (e.g. Calls Out) it will dial out via Bluetooth with my Motorola Q. More experimenting to follow... stay tuned.

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

I have the same problem. The work around you describe is far from ideal. I will be taking mine to the dealer in a couple of weeks. Hopefully they can figure it out.

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

Keep me posted - I would be interested to know what the dealer has to say.

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

No BlueTooth in my Box, but wife's 07 X5 has it and BMW claims there are incompatible BlueTooth phones.

So I bought her fone from their list and have had no problems.

Your BlueTooth function seems to work, but the contacts for fone and car appear incompatible.

Good luck withe dealer!

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

Not quite... I can download contacts to CDR30 - the issue is having the CDR30 dial those contact's numbers that are stored - or the CDR30 initiating a call from those contact. It can dial out when numbers are stored in "Calls In" or manually inputed. Just because Porsche hasn't tested the phone doesn't mean it won't work - it just means they have chosen a finite number of phones to test. Bluetooth is a standard... it can't half not work.

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

I don't have this problem as I don't have the CDR30, however it occurs to me that the Moto Q (which I do own) has two types of contacts, one maintained in memory and the other contained on the SIM card. Some add on systems when integrated with the Q will behave differently, depending on where the contact is stored. Some Windows based PC synchronization software is a good example of this effect at work. I would try to see if there is a difference in how the CDR30 treats these two contact lists.

Just a suggestion.

Re: CDR30 Bluetooth with Motorola Q

Just back from dealer. Service advisor could not get the stored contacts to dial out either. No problems with unit according to their diagnostic data. They put in a request to "P-tech" to see if any other fix is out there. This problem is occurring with my wife's Palm Treo, but I don't think it is dependent on the phone as the data is stored on the car bluetooth unit...the dial out button simply cancels the call. It works fine for any number stored in the calls in or calls out menu, however.

Incidentally, my iPhone 3G cannot send contacts to the bluetooth unit at all. The iPhone is thus just an intermediary for hands-free dialing...I'm cautiously optimistic the new software upgrade for iPhone due out Wednesday will fix the contact download, but this I fear will still not fix the dial out button...
