PCM DVD Maps update... taking hours!

Today I received from my dealer the 2007 DVD maps update of the GCC area for my PCM 2.1 (previously I was using the 2005 DVD release). To my surprise it is taking hours to update... and never ends!

I tried removing it from the Navigator then putting it back, it immediately prompts me to update the software informing me that it should take minutes... but these minutes never end! I drove for a long time to give it a chance to finish updating... but I am afraid these is something wrong!

Any advice?
