I thought you had a FabSpeed? Just throw it on... should take you three hours. Just remove the rear wheels.

lkl-i just installed my remus catback yesterday afternoon. i have to tell you, i cannot get enough of it! it sounds insanely good. very nice rumble at idle and low rpms (<2000 rpm) and the thing screams up top. nice exotic sound to it as well. very complimentary to the car.
there is DEF, DEF a power increase! the car pulls much harder now. i wouldnt be suprised if i got 15 rwhp out of it.
the exhaust does have drone at ~2400 rpms, but you can easily stay out of it with proper driving/gear adjustment. fitment is good as well.
overall...im very happy. i think its agressive sounding, with good power increase, and nice looking tips.

My Remus exhaust arrived at my office last week Thursday, since I was booked for the Labor day weekend, I figured I'd install the exhaust the following weekend which meant it was going to be a long week. Friday morning I wake up and figure why not take a look at the system; when I opened up the box I was very pleased with the weld quality and overall appearance and construction of the system, the bends were nice and smooth, the brackets were very strong and not flimsy, and the finish was top notch. I decided the exhaust was going on my CS right then and I was not going to wait a week to do it.
I removed the exhaust by following the excellent instructions posted by Gator Bite with one exception, the stock exhaust brackets should not be removed as they are used for installing the Remus system.
Installation was very easy and straight forward, working from the headers back I loosely installed the pipes, the mufflers and the tips then I worked my way around getting everything aligned and tightened it all up. The removal/install took me about 2 1/2 hours with about an hour for install (I had trouble with two hard to reach header nuts during the removal process).
I was a little anxious about how the sytem would sound when I turned the key and fired the car up for the first time. I am very pleased with the sound, it's deeper than the stock exhaust with nice burble at cold idle, once the car warmed up to low idle the sound is also deeper but not too loud IMO.
Now, how would it sound while driving? I took the CS out for a spin and the sound is incredible at all RPM's, there's a deeper sound that does not drone or overpower the interior. I drove around at a variety of speeds in different gears etc., the only bit of "droning" I heard was under load at about 2500 RPM in sixth gear (not a typical gear/RPM combo for me). At WOT the system opens up nicely with a great sound. All in all I am very happy with the system.

A good point. When I originally wrote that article, it was to facilitate the installation of an exhaust system that didn't need the factory bracket. I've gone back and added a couple of sentences to make it clear that not all systems will require the removal of the factory bracket. I hope I didn't make you take yours off unnecessarily.
Factory Exhaust Removal How To

No not at all, as soon as I saw the parts I knew the stock bracket should stay, your how-to was a big help!....I has a bit of trouble with the outside header nuts and ended up going in through the wheel well to get at them , without your explanation I might still be under the car!

The same thing happened to me Marktini! My Remus exhaust arrived on a Tuesday and I planned to install it on Saturday. But I decided to take a quick peek inside the box, just like you. After unwrapping the pieces, I thought this won't take long to install. I had previously read Gator Bite's excellent exhaust removal article and wondered if I would need the factory hangers for the Remus. Just looking at the new pieces, it was easy to see that the factory hangers would be needed by the Remus exhaust. The wrenches started turning immediately. About an hour later my factory exhaust was off, while the factory hangers were still on the car. I took a dinner break and then proceeded to bolt up the new Remus bits. It took me exactly 4 hours total, including time to eat dinner.
Not only do I like the sound of the system and the look of the tips, but I also like the look of the exhaust system shining through the Cayman's rear diffuser. The low rumble at startup is great, and I like the slight burble when decelerating in gear. Under WOT, the sound really comes alive at 4K RPM and up. I cruise with the windows down a lot more now.

The Cayman engine just sounds so sweet, especially if you let her breath a little through a quality exhaust system.

Glad I could help. The Remus exhaust makes my day every time I fire up the Cayman. What a sweet sound!
In fact the Remus delivered even more incredible sound today when I turned on Sport mode. I didn't think it could get any better but oh man wow! Maybe its just the way the car begs to be driven in Sport mode, I don't know. The sound is just incredible with sport mode!!!!
Let me express what I learned today as a concise little formula:
Cayman + Sport Mode + Remus = Intense Love

i cant even begin to tell you how much i love this exhaust system. it sounds very exotic at ~4K rpms and up. i love rev matching with the sport button on! its screams up top and has a nice throaty burble down low. i get compliments on it all the time. and revving in neutral, it has a very tight sound quick revving sound, whoooom, whoooom!

How is the overall volume of the system? Can it be driven to be quiet like the stock setup until you open it up? Some have reported the resonance at 2400-2500 RPM's is that truly the only range? Has anyone used the system in conjunction with performance Cats like the ones Fabspeed sells? Usually performance cats will increase the overall volume compared to use with the stock cats. Thanks for your input in advance as I am seriously thinking about exchanging my Borla system for the Remus.

Here are the reasons I would change from the Borla to the Remus. The Borla inconjunction with the fabspeed headers I am using is much louder than when used with the stock cats (I have tried both ways). The resonance range with the perfomamnce cat setup and the Borla with my car is from about 2200-2800 rpms. I live in Baltimore city and do alot of city driving in my CS (my daily driver) so the added volume bouncing off glass and marble buildings is a bit loud. I've also considered the Milltek but am not sold on the quality. I am interested to know if anyone has been able to directly compare the volume of the two systems, which ever one is the quietest I will probably go with.
