CS Aftermarket Audio

Hello,

I'm thinking of doing a aftermarket install completely replacing the HU and just curious if the stock HU, (non-pcm) controls anything other then the sound?

Is there anything special or needed to be done if the HU will be completely reremoved? I've heard a few members talk about some fiber wires.
