Motordrive clear engine cover - scored one on ebay

In addition to securing a cover on ebay I managed to get an extra carpeted cover from a salvage yard. Nothing has arrived yet but I'm starting to think about what I want to do.

I have 3 ideas basically.

1) Cut carpet cover as others have shown and stitch some piping or something around the cut edge.

2) Cut cover and then cover that with carbon look vinyl

3) Mess around with spare cover and see if I can take a huge piece of styrofoam and shave/form it to something similar. Cut that out as I would the normal cover and paint or lay vinyl or lay cf or fg or something else utterly stupid

If anyone else has any ideas feel free to post them or let me know which of these 3 you like. Can someone CNC styrofoam ..I mean how expensive can that possibly be?

Harbour Surfboards - The best in classic and contemporary surfboards since 1959

Look under history and info / surfboard design.

Board manufacturing has changed tremendously over the last decade. Final shaping is still done by hand at Harbour.

A bit off topic, but yes, CNCing of foam is done, but I dont' know how cheap it would be to do for a one off piece.

Yes, I have 2 Harbours, both custom ordered and both Clark Foam boards (pre mechanized shaping I believe) a 10-0 SanO (under Surfboards / board arrivals / page 18 from 5/20/05; my SanO the one part way out of the truck in the 1st pic and is the one in the 2nd picture (you can see, Harbour owners can be as fanatical as Porsche owners!!!) and a 10-0 Banana bought in 2001, along with my prized hand shaped Hobie Phil Edwards 9-0, and several other boards. Like cars, you can't have too many boards, even though I don't get out more than one or two trips a year anymore.

Regards!
