2008 Cayman Bumper Spoiler Lip (in Alumnium)

Hello,

I have a chance to purhcase a CS for a good price but the thing I hate is the vehicle has the front bumper spoiler in alum trim & bumper grills. I'm wondering what my options are? can I replace this easy? i'd rather have matching color

It is easily removable, and can be repainted to match your cars color. Some here have sent them to Eric at Bumperplugs for repainting, he has a good reputation for his quality of painting things like this.

I assume you are also referring to the aluminum colored piece in the front opening. This appears to be the opening for the transmission cooler for a Tiptronic equipped car, I am not sure how that can be repainted.

Thanks for that info on eric, he seems like he does a great job and fairly good prices. Kind of a swap deal it seems.

I always heard the rear console would be a pain to get done and swap that, I wonder how hard it is.

Look through the "articles section" there's a few articles on the sport shift kit installation, which requires the removal of the console. Take a look at the articles and see if it's something you can tackle.

Yeah, I totally did the console swap. If a fool like me can pull it off, anybody should be able to. I did it like 2 years ago, and everything's still holding together, so there's nothing to worry about. (I actually had that console out twice, because I did a short-shifter install too).

Eric did my rear console. I personally think doing it through bumperplugs is preferable to doing it through Porsche. Eric's quality is top notch, may be cheaper than the factory (can't remember offhand), and he paints all of it. If you get it done at the factory, the little cover under the ebrake handle does NOT come painted. You can see it in some people's pics. Get it from Eric, and that piece DOES come painted.

I have a silver 2.7 (same problem in reverse) and I just purchased a set of titanium lips so it would better match and took off the stock black ones. They aren't "painted" black... just black plastic.

If you'd be interested in swapping so I'd have another set of silver colored lips, just let me know.
