Look at the Softronic special. They are selling a combo of exaust and software. Suspension mods would be the way to go, if you plan on going to the track.

Re: Best mods for 05-06 Boxster S
Thanks for the info,
It doesn't look like the Softronic mods are available for the 280HP 3.2 liter engine.
Also any plenum, throttle body and/or exhaust mods worth considering?
Thanks

The car is a 987 so the exhaust and Flash would work along with the Durametric.
Best,
Scott

Thanks for the fast reply Scott
You will be on my short list. Any dyno charts available. I guess the percentage that your getting from the 3.4 987S could be extrapolated to the 3.2 987S

Re: Best mods for 05-06 Boxster S
Hello Scott,
I have a 2005 2.7 Boxster.....warranty just expired and i would like to see what my options are with you.
I have now on the car a Fabspeed exhaust and headers with no cats....what is my best option to maximize my hp...what would be my gains and total price of package if available?
I have sent a few message on the boards, and have not gotten a answer back, but i have seen you have answered other questions that came a day after mine....please get back me when you can....I am currently in Dubai, and the time difference makes it difficult for me to call. Will be back in the states later this week, but would like to get an order in process so items will be there upon my return.....recap..2005 Box 2.7 has already exhaust and headers with no Cats, would like to see what options you have that would complement these bolt ons..what is the price and HP gains...is there any specials for bundling items together?

Stage 1: Intake, Exhaust and Software
Stage 2: Engine transplant. You can buy low mileage M97.21s (3.4L 987 engine) for around $5,000. I bet you can get good deals on the 3.6L 996 engines too.

Re: Best mods for 05-06 Boxster S
GO TURBO!!!
An engine swap is possible, but even if you get your motor for $5,000 it will still likely cost close to another $5,000 to get the motor installed and properly running. For that cost we could Provide a Turbo Kit that will have you putting down over 400HP at the crank. For the the same cost or less than an engine swap we can provide you MORE power!!

Re: Best mods for 05-06 Boxster S
Wow, I would have thought the 3.4L would go for more than that. Thanks Gatorbite. Any idea what a nice 997S engine would go for?
I guess the Stage 1 would make the most economic sense.
I would have no problem with a low boost turbo option except I hear about these intermdiate shaft horror stories. I'd worry that maybe the added stress would cause the bearing to go.
I really love my S but wouldn't mind a few extra ponies. Since the car only has 17k miles I am thinking that a engine transplant would make more sense than selling it and buying an 09. Plus I really like the GT Silver and full Cocoa leather which ain't cheap options on a new car. I wonder if the new Cayman DFI engine would cost more than 20k installed?
Again all who posted thanks for your thoughts.

DFI
|
 |
Direct Fuel Injection (DFI), is a new technology that Porsche states can cut fuel consumption by up to 15 percent, while increasing power by up to 13 percent. DFI cuts emissions by warming up the catalytic converter more quickly, and ensures a sharper throttle response. Better for your right foot - and the planet, then.
DFI allows much more precise measurement of fuel supply and injection at pressures up to 120 bar; it has numerous combustion modes, with different cycles for cold-starting, low-speed driving and performance driving.
As the name suggests, DFI injects fuel directly into the individual combustion chambers, instead of the intake manifold. The injector valves have an electromagnetic mechanism that controls each injection with astonishing precision, while a high-pressure pump provides the necessary pressure—up to 1,740 psi—to accompany the rapid fire of the fuel injection.
Precise geometry of the injector’s position and its spray pattern is a key factor in helping to improve power, torque and emissions of the engines. The specific placement of the fuel as it enters each chamber creates a swirl that improves the air/fuel mixture, and therefore the overall combustion process.
At engine speeds up to 3500 rpm, a double-injection process is used. In this mode, the required fuel volume is delivered in two successive injections per working stroke. The resulting benefits include faster catalyst warm-up and increased torque in the upper load range.
By forming the air/fuel mix directly in the combustion chamber, DFI contributes to engine cooling. As a result, it is possible to increase the compression ratio and with it the power and efficiency of the engine.
The direct injection process is continuously adjusted. The engine management system reads changes to throttle inputs and performance requirements and, as you drive, the air/fuel mix is monitored and adapted as required. Oxygen sensor circuits within the exhaust system provide accurate emissions control. |

My question (seriously) is there any shop you know in Bahrain or KSA who can do any of the above? Would you trust them if it was your CS? Can you refer me to someone who tried them? And how much would it cost? Their website? ...etc.
My CS warranty will expire early next year... and I am giving serious thoughts to boost my gator into a real beast!

I would recommend myself This way I would not have to get a phone call later on how to fix another swap that was not done correctly. I'm not saying other shops cant do this, I get phone calls daily stating , "Since my swap ... " or " Why doesnt it run correctly" etc.
Best,
Scott Slauson
