Remus Exhaust Installed

I've finally found the right exhaust for this car.

The stock exhaust was far too quiet and didn't really showcase the car's tone.

At one point I had a B&B exhaust, which was OK but a little on the quiet side. The drone was moderate, not as much as a Borla but slightly more than the Remus. The volume decreased to stock-like levels at higher RPM's. A lot of this tameness might have had something to do with the built-in high-flow cats. I'm sure with headers, the B&B would've come alive, but its tone isn't quite my taste. Especially after hearing the Remus.

The Remus sounds excellent. It does have drone, but it's manageable. Only those that find drone very objectionable will find it bothersome. It's got a bit of rasp and bass in the lower RPM's. Where it really comes alive is the upper RPM's. It produces a very exotic, European sounding howl. Unless you are going WOT, it's actually fairly quiet. Once on WOT, it's a moderately loud exhaust. Certainly not as loud as some exhausts I've owned on other cars, but semi-aggressive nonetheless.

The tone under overpasses and between buildings is amazing.

My only complaint about the exhaust is a so-so tip design and - for me - it could be louder. Maybe headers will remedy that someday.

Anyone here run Remus with headers? How much louder does it get?

Re: Remus Exhaust Installed

No Remus here but I do have headers. They do make whatever exhaust you have louder.

Excellent article
I am going to do some video recordings comparing the Remus and Borla next weekend .
All these exhausts to choose from it sure makes it confusing but I think your post clears the air some .

Re: mkiv808

I love my remus. And if you're a track rat it really screams on track. Only one problem, everyone knows when you're being a pu$$y and not on the throttle...

Re: Remus Exhaust Installed

I chose the Remus system based on Youtube sound clips! It looks like most quality aftermarket free flow systems boast similar power gains and all have some drone under certain conditions so really it comes down to which one sounds the coolest.

I have had mine installed for a few months now and could not be happier. I think it is very civil under all driving conditions and holy @#$% does it SCREAM when you stand on it! The install was very easy at about 2 hours (including removing rear wheels and stock exhaust) and the quality of the unit is very good. I also have the SRP+4.1 so combined with the Remus, there is a substantial increase in high end pull all the way to redline.

I do find that after installing the system, it requires a bit more throttle for a smooth take off but I quickly adapted.

All in all...very cool exhaust.

+1 I'm very satisfied as well! I'm sure the other systems are just as good or better, but I got what I got and I have zero regrets.

The other night I was in full sail (6.5k) while finishing a tight descending turn on-ramp that passed under an overpass... hadn't heard it echo like that before. My wife and I looked each other and grinned like kids for the next several miles.

Ok Wolfie, now you've got my interest. You'll have to take me for a drive on Thursday when we meet for coffee to discuss caymans.
