Cayman GTR vs. GT3 Cup car @ the NY Auto Show
Great video of the Farnbacher-Loles Cayman GTR drag racing a GT3 cup down in front of the Javits Center for the NY autoshow.

Welcome to CaymanClub Emil.
The username sounds familiar, are you the owner of a white GT3 with the euro seats and white wheels that I've seen at car meets in the Tri-State area?

Guilty as charged.
That's my car. It's a 2007 GT3. The car is fully stock except for the Schroth belts, Dassport bar, and the Carrera GT seats. It'll be getting some drive line modifications soon including light weight fly wheel, headers, exhaust, ECU, and a full tune...
Also, that's the car that ran the 2007 Carrera Panamericana. Here's some pics:
Unlimited Class at La Carrera Panamericana, 2007 - Highlights - a photoset on Flickr
And some video:

Sorry about the audio on these 2 videos:
YouTube - 2007 La Carrera Panamericana - Qualifying
YouTube - 2007 La Carrera Panamericana - Whoops!
The Porsche Post is running a piece about us and the race starting in the April issue... we'll be back for the 2008 race. Maybe Roger will loan us the GTR. Ok, maybe not...

So almost GT3 Cup Car performance in a straight line without the sequential tranny, most impressive.

Emil,
Here’s another pic of your car. I know the guys in the Mini. I didn't see it, but they had to push it for the last stretch to get credit for finishing.

GT3 Cup Street Racing!!! Check this out 987GTR
Bryce Miller and the Farnbacher-Loles 911 GT3 Cup Car tear it up against Roger Garbow and the Farnbacher-Loles Porsche Cayman GTR during the Opening Ceremonies for the New York International Auto Show. Thanks to the NYPD and New York State Police for closing down 11th Avenue for us to have a good time. Who won? It was close... and cold played a BIG role in the outcome, but the GT3 Cup crossed the line a bit faster than the Cayman GTR. Hosted by Matt Farah of the New York Motor Club...

Funny..saw nearly the exact same car at VIR earlier this year..
It definitely was the best looking Cayman I've seen but for what it must cost to transform a cayman into that, you might as well have gone with a GT3 or GT3 RS..

I agree. I thought the scene was a little cheezy.
These are track cars not old school muscle cars.

This is a better video on Youtube (below) taken by one of the bystanders that shows the Caman beating the GT3 off the line. From the 419 video you can never tell that the Cayman was ahead.
