Tess,
I know where one is sitting right now. Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida. The color really is nice looking. I'm not sure that its for me, but it is definitely an eye-popper.....

They are calling the color "Signal Green" at Brumo's.

LSD - Limited Slip Differential
|
 |
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

Re: New 09 Cayman in Green
I think the aerokit and larger wing is what really makes the car. That is sort of the look I'm going for with mine. I've ordered the front splitters and new spoiler from MotorLux and just waiting on the goodies to arrive.
Went to a car show this weekend where Brumos had a PDK car there with the full leather GT3 sport seats. Man were they comfy. Wish I had the $$$ to get them.
Take Care,

Re: New 09 Cayman in Green
These "Signal" colors go back to the early '70's when Porsche ran the same series (orange and green) for a couple of years with the 911's. Not for everybody and can get "old" pretty quickly.

Roadmaster,
Yep, you are correct. In fact, Brumos also has one of the Tangerine colored CS's. It is a commerative color based on what Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood ran back in the 70's in their hayday for Brumos' Racing. I think I like the green better though.....

Re: New 09 Cayman in Green
The green is very distinctive. Not my style, but it definitely makes a statement.

Re: New 09 Cayman in Green
I prefer the green over that orange. I've never been a fan of black wheels.
The new 2009 improvements have me wishing the stock market would come back so I might actually think about one. Given current market I'm looking for ways to keep my 401K alive. Depressing and sad state finances these days.
