Yes, there is an aero panel under the first ~60% of the car. Look in the ' Articles' section of the forum (look up near the top of the page) and look at some of the exhaust install articles for some good pictures of the underbody. Note that some of the pictures may have the panel(s) removed - but there is one for sure!

Re: Cayman S underr body picture
I'm interested in the front jacking points that have been used. I have not seen anybody mention that location before.

If you have an owner's manual, it will show you where the jacking points are located... there's even pictures! since you have an '06 - here's a link to a PDF version...
The Cayman Club - Downloads - 2006 Owners Manual
Take a look on page 223.

Thank you Brad. But I believe in the pic they're supporting the car well inboard from the standard jacking points, which are directly behind the front tires. I just peeked under my car, and sure enough there's a bit of exposed frame in that location.

Ah, you're talking about the pictures above this in this thread. Sorry, I didn't understand your question.
I have no idea why they're using the jacking points shown in the pictures in that shop, unless it has something to do with limitations of the lift equipment being used. There's a lot of stuff (including coolant lines) running through the sides, so I would strongly not recommend using the points shown in the pictures.

Re: Cayman S underr body picture
Does those boards under body provide down force? I see the new Ferrair and Lamborghini no longer using spoiler on top, all using under body tunnel creating down force.
The Cayman S rear spoiler is so small. How many lbs down force can be provide?

I don't think there is any claim for downforce - just for smoothing the underbody flow for better fuel mileage.
And, as Porsche found out years ago, it's tough to design a tunnel with a 'flat' motor - but that makes me wonder if the RSR's don't have some minor tunnel design.

Re: Cayman S underr body picture
Here's a shot of the underside of my CS raised up at the left front using the "jan-u-wine" Porsche aluminum szissor jack at that corner's jack point. The jack has a bump on its pad that fits into a matching hole in the jack point.

In addition to the underbody, there is a flexible piece right before the front wheels. Look closly and you will see a significant slot (3 x 5 in) that matches a curved flexible piece on the lower control arm to direct ram air to the lower half of the front brakes. Some neat thinking there. Ed
