Re: my cobalt blue cayman

Drool...
Have you been keeping a secret (aside from your addiction to Cobalt)?
Sweet Jesus, that is a nice looking CS.
When do I get to see it in person?
Oh, and welcome to CaymanClub!

Re: my cobalt blue cayman
Looks beautiful man. Post up more pics please How do you like your Tubi exhaust?
Have you had any clearance issues with the drop? How's the ride quality with the springs and 19s?
Do you have any side-view pics by any chance?

Re: my cobalt blue cayman
I'll post more pics soon. The exhaust system sounds great i love it.I'am new to the Cayman and have not had an opportunity to actually hear to many other systems live.Youtube has a bunch of short clips on exhaust options for this vehicle. As for how it looks on the car,it is polished stainless steel and looks great (Will post pics).I have not had any clearance issues with the drop and 19"s.It handles great. The ride quality is fine the car still tracks very well and does not react adversly to road travel.Speed bumps and steep driveways are a little tricky though but then kooking at your 2005 Acura i would say that that is something that you are aware of already? Thanks for the response and interest

My gf loves how Cobalt blue looks on the Cayman.
Yea, I think I've watched all the youtube videos on the Cayman I haven't heard anything besides stock in person.
The reason I ask about clearance and ride quality is because I have springs (1 1/2" drop), 18s, and a low front bumper that jets outwards more and when I pull in or out of certain places I have to go very slow and sometimes I still bottom out. I can't pull into my friend's driveway lol.
It's also good to know it tracks well with 19s. I was wondering if I was going to save my stock wheels if I buy 19s for the Cayman S (when I purchase a CS).
I was looking for springs with a 1" drop for the CS, but it looks like the least is 1 1/2". Eibach is about 1.2". PASM is only 10mm lower.
I'm afraid that being 1 1/2" lower with a front lip kit on the CS would be a little low for the places here in NYC.
Thanks for the reply.

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
|
 |
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Re: my cobalt blue cayman
probably will be too low? as for the sound it is night and day over stock,i find myself shifting more just to hear it . There is cabin resonance between 2500 and 3000 rpm but i do not find it to obtrusive.some might.I have other vehicles i use for long hauls and daily driving.this is one of the toys. The car puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it.I believe and hope that you will have the same experience when you make your purchase.Goodluck......

Re: my cobalt blue cayman
Got my '08 cobalt blue s about a year ago. Everywhere I go, people comment on how pretty the car is. Went to a DE event last fall and many commented that it was the prettiest color on the cayman. Congrats! and enjoy.

Re: my cobalt blue cayman
Cobalt Blue is a great colour! I think up to MY08 it was on the "special order" list - I recall actually as I ordered my Boxster in Lapis Blue which then went on the special and Cobalt off so there are not too many of these around and so it has that "uniqueness" which is great!
I hear what you say about the exhaust note and shifting down, I do it as well!
I would like something a bit louder with the option to turn it on or off (as you get on the options list) but its still great!
