Photos from a dealer that just returned from Spain.
One in Ruby Red and the other in a custom colour.
Enjoy!

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
Great find!
Those cars look like they're optioned to the max. I wonder if the U.S. launch cars will be the same configuration.

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
I'm not normally big on green cars (Porsche "signal green" is particularly awful), but this car looks pretty good with the natural brown leather.

British 'Racing' Green - Does Not Suit a Porsche.............
Much Better - On An Aston Martin...................
(This is Why - Most Porsches/German Sports Cars - Are in the Majority - Silver.....
Silver, Being the German National Racing Colours.)

Don't think that is the same 'racing green' that is on the carrera II launch cars, looks to have more grey or silver in it, very nice ! Love those special sport seats.

I believe that the stitching you are referring to is standard with the natural leather, and is not a "deviating stitching" option.

After looking at the 'red' car longer, don't think that is ruby red either, might be new color or special paint, dosen't have that deep red look of the ruby color. what do you think ?

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
As already stated....re options,
The number of Gen 2 Caymans that the press have had with the Aerokit fitted......you'd almost think it was standard like that!!!!!!! not plus a million $$$$..
Both cars in the photo's have it !!
But 4by4

That appears to be malachite green. Hard to tell with the lighting.

The stitching is standard. All the pieces however, are optional (leather console, embossed storage compartment lid, gear lever trim, steering column).

Wow..I love that green Cayman. The interior, black wheels, yellow brake calipers, all look so nice together.

Nick_USA should be happy because the three females in one picture are looking at the Boxster and not the Cayman!

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
Both beautiful colors, imo. Love that beige interior...
The green looks more like " Malachite" than a Forest Green... and I like the "oranginess" of the red car... looks sharp.
The shape/design of the Cayman with all the curves and such really lends itself to bright metallic colors... dark colors seem to get lost.

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
The dealer assures me it is Ruby Red, as he knows thats the colour I'm interested in. One cant expect the colours to be reproduced here accurately however. The Green is a "sample to match", for who know who.

4by4, is there anyone I can ask about the "sample to match" car? I would like to have this color as an option for my next CS.

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
The green one is definitely Malachite/NB Leather,....with center console, center compartment cover, steering column, etc. all in leather, not to mention the sport buckets. Expensive car.
The other is most likely Ruby Red, just the lighting makes it looks a bit orange for some reason.
NICE!

Contact your dealer and Im sure they can track it down. Just mention it was one of the demo cars at the Spain launch a week ago.

Yeah, I've noticed the Ruby Red does have a sort of chameleon look to it, especially in photos, depending on the lighting. Something I've taken notice of as that's the color I'm ordering.
When I see pictures like this online:
2008 New Porsche Boxster S at Vision Auto Group in Leesport, PA | Audi, Volkswagen IID 3296922
and it makes me think it looks much closer to a darker Orient Red Metallic(or Mercedes' Bordeaux red metallic)
I also noticed it at the LA Auto Show, they had a 997 with Ruby Red metallic, and it looked kinda orange under the sharp lights indoors. Then I went to a local dealer and
saw a 997 Ruby Red in person, and it was much "redder"/darker in person. (it was a cloudy day).
IMO, just a part of what makes it a sexy color.

Re: Photos from 2009 dealer launch in Spain
Ruby Red is a beautiful color. I loved it when I saw it on a boxster.
I normally wouldn't like that type of green but that Malachite Green looks very classy and that interior is very nice (and expensive). I haven't seen many Caymans or Boxsters with those options.
