Re: Lacking
I am still waiting. My baby may be born or close to it. The new Sport Exhaust and LSD caused a month of more delay. It is Artic Silver with Red Carrera full leather with deviating black carpeting. I will shoot a ton of photos when I get her home. The germans do not work the same hours as we do or I would have my 2009 CS already!!!!

LSD - Limited Slip Differential
|
 |
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

Re: Lacking
I took some great shots of my new 2009 CS...but unfortunately the setting on the camera was 1200X1600, and the size limit for this site is 1200X1500...been having too much fun driving to go recreate the "photoshoot"...I'll get around to taking some new pics soon.

Re: Lacking
Here you go! My 2009 Cayman with PDK in Carerra White with the two-tone interior. Loving it!
I've always been a heel & toe guy, but commuting to NYC in bumper to bumper traffic would burn at least a clutch a year. PDK is amazing. best way to describe it is that it's like shifting with your mind. The tranny responds like a manual...all by itself.
I'm having a few second thoughts about not buying the "S"...but the 2.9 is plenty fast and fun.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster.
Here are a couple of very crappy iPhone pics. I've been having way too much fun driving it to stop & do a photo shoot. But, a proper shoot will definitely be coming soon.

I'm not a big fan of the sand interior, but the 2 tone really pops! I like it. I was at my local dealer yesterday and they had a Cream White CS with Carerra Red interior, that thing was just sick! I almost contemplated trading my 07CS in for it.

car still looks hot. how is the ride on 19s without PASM? any difference in sound quality with your BOSE system compared to the earlier cayman model?

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
|
 |
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Thanks! Still haven't done that photoshoot yet to get some proper pics up here.
The ride on the 19's is surprisingly comfortable, although I suppose that it's all a matter of opinion. I actually test drove a CS on the stock 18's and, back to back, I'd have to say that the difference is negligible. A bit more road noise, but still reasonable for every day driving.
As for the BOSE, I'd say it sounds pretty much exactly like the previous Cayman's BOSE system. Audiophiles will hate it, but I feel it's a nice upgrade from the stock system. Definitely worth it in my book.

Dave you dont have to do that....for now, you can upload your photos to a site like photobucket and then link each image here using the URL and the image will come in at the right size.
Alternatively, you can do a batch reduction of all photos at one time, depending on what type of software you use. Then post here.

Dave CS, why don't you just reduce the size in your graphics program? ooops...already been said.
