Technical information 1726

Hi there

I have the "screeching noise during engine warm-up" issue on my 06 Boxster S.
There are reports of some users here who had the so called "control piston" of the oil pump replaced by the dealership, but the noise came back.

Question for you guys. If I just leave this issue alone (noise will disapear after 5mins of driving anyway), will there be any negative side effects or harm for the engine?

Thanks and rgds,

Stefan

Re: Technical information 1726

Take it to your dealer. There is an update to a pressure relief valve that will solve this.

Re: Technical information 1726

I had that problem in my old 05 Boxster. They did the piston release mod and te noise while still there was 95% quieter! My Cayman does not have this issue at all.

Also my Boxster's engine blower would come on quite a bit. I never had it come on in my Cayman yet (over a yaer old.)
