Auto up & down windows going haywire

Anyone have any problems with the automatic up / down windows not operating properly? Every once in a while, when I go to close my windows I'll push the window switch for it to go up and it will stop, or pause, at the halfway point and change direction. It will start to go the opposite way that I want it to go, and then when I push the window switch again it won't stay in the auto mode. I have to actually hold the switch in the direction I want it to go until it's fully closed or it will go in the opposite direction again. Drives me crazy!

Re: Auto up & down windows going haywire

Mine had the window seal at the back edge of the door was cut. and the seal would jam the window. The windows have a safety that if there is to much resistance ( a hand, head or other body part) the window will go back down. The seal was replaced under warranty.

Your Owner's Manual describes a reset procedure that may cure that. (It has been discussed here before as well if you care to search it out.)

Here are just a few: http://www.planetporsche.net/cayman-...hemselves.html

Re: Auto up & down windows going haywire

Many users mentioned this, myself included. Look for "Window Poltergeist or Window Ghost" threads. Resetting helps, cleaning the felt track and the window itself helps. Mine is highly intermittent.

BUT>>>

I was told it is a software issue by a tech.
