Question new boxster tire pressure

Just got my new 09 Boxster and thought the ride was a bit harsh. Checked the tire pressure and it was 60 psi in all four tires! Wondering why - is this something the factory might have done or is it a dealer issue? Any thoughts guys?

Re: new boxster tire pressure

I think the factory sets the initial pressures somewhat high for shipping, but dealers are supposed to reset them to recommended pressures before delivery.

Re: new boxster tire pressure

I think the pressures are set that high to avoid flat spotting of the tires during the long shipping process. Looks like the dealer prep department missed this item on the checklist.

If you're close to the dealer, stop by and let them know, I'm sure they'll give it a once over to make sure nothing else was missed!

Enjoy the new car!

Thanks - I will check with the dealer.
