Suncoast Rotors
What is the difference between the "OEM" Rotors I can get from Suncoast and the ones at my Porsche Dealer for over twice the cost?

Re: Suncoast Rotors
OEM is OEM... I found that Suncoast hands down crushes it's competitors as far as pricing and service goes. Champion in Pompano FL is not far from me and I thought I could save money on shipping costs... I was wrong! Even with shipping costs included, I have paid far less with Suncoast 100% of the time. The guys in the parts department are friendly and get orders shipped out fast. I usually get my items delivered the next day.

Re: Suncoast Rotors
+1 on suncoast. I replaced mine recently with theirs. Half the price of my local dealer.

Re: Suncoast Rotors
That's cool since they are a site sponsor. I too have had GREAT experience with ordering directly from them.
I would also note that your local dealer can perform many additional services and shouldn't be overlooked for sourcing parts. Sometimes my dealer has specials on parts such as oil filters and drain plugs and crush gaskets. When these opportunities come up I usually grab what I will need for a while.
Your local dealer is also a great source of information. Spending a few minutes with the techs before or after a service can shed a great deal of light in to how they are thinking and what they are going to do for service.

Re: Suncoast Rotors
It really does seem Suncoast is the way to go for almost any part. I have used them a number of times and the service has always been excellent.
My local dealer occasionally runs a 25% off parts and installation special, and even adding in shipping the cost is still a couple of dollars more than Suncoast. (Please note in one instance, however, I went with my dealer as the installation discount was good enough to convice me I didn't need to do it [OE short shift] myself.)

Re: Suncoast Rotors
Suncoast is excellent, but please check the thickness of your rotors against the allowable spec before replacing them. Buy a digital caliper for $25 and measure the fronts. 26mm is the wear limit. 22mm for the rears. For perspective, if you have 26.5mm in the front you still have 25% of your rotor life remaining. Divide your current mileage by 4 and check again then.

+1 I'm another happy client as well. I have bought numerous items from Suncoast and it always arrives promptly at a fraction of the cost of dealers in my area.
You can't go wrong with buying from Suncoast.

Re: Suncoast Rotors
Probably the difference is the price. I have bought many parts from Suncoast, and their prices and service are hard to beat.

Re: Suncoast Rotors
SunCoast is great. And I buy many things from them.
But as a matter of practice, face to face, I never settle for the first price that people tell me. If you have a good rapport with your dealer just ask them if they can do better or match prices. I have been very successful with a smile and a question, and rarely pay full price for anything.
Bargaining seems to be quite a rare approach in the US but not so everywhere else. You would be surprised at how many people are open to "helping you out". They give you the price you want, make a little money, but more importantly they know they have locked in a repeat customer.
