You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

I Just called Durametric to confirm you Cannott delete the Over Revs on the Cayman with their software .You can only View the Level 1 and Level 2 information
Level 2 being the serious offenders .
You can view the Exact Time and how often you have level 2 over revs but you cannott delete them .

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

I beleive they get deleted though if you update your ECU software - ie, switching to the stock load from softtronic before going to the dealer.

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

Actually, no they stay. The overrevs are in a different part of the DME. They are not part of the flash and need special hardware to be reset.

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

When I last had mine read-out, it does show over-revs in all the ranges 1-5, although I only had over-revs in ranges 1 and 2.

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

That actually reminds me... The last time I had my car on the dyno I decided to let it go to the limiter. It got all the way up to 7600 rpm before I let off the gas (the limiter never kicked in). I do have the SRP and ECU flash so I think the limit may work a bit different. Does anyone know what the new limit is or if it is just disabled?

Thanks for any info!

FYI although the rev limiter has been moved by the flash it does not alter the recording of the original over rev ranges.

Softronic's rev limiter is 7700.

you can leave it standard, or have Scott set it at what you would like.

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

WoW! We have some posts on over revs again.

Durametric can NOT reset them. This requires a slick code writer that can access the chip in a Milli second and adjust them. Then again resetting DME's etc ....etc also falls in line. .

Should anyone have further questions on Durametric or Softronic please send me an email.

Best Regards,
Scott Slauson

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

Pardon the obvious, but unless I'm mistaken stage-2 over-rev is beyond stage-1, but not beyond 8000 if memory serves. Why do we want to clear this? I understand Porsche will know about it, but so what? I don't think it'll void warranty.

There seems to be some Mis-Conceptions Here......

On the Cayman - There are in Fact 6 Ranges

The 6 ranges can be broken down as:

(OK ish)
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM

(Naughty)
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM

(Very Naughty)
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM

The number is the number of ignitions in each of these ranges.
The factory PIWIS tool does not display the hours for each of these ranges but the information is available, so Durametric display it. The hour indicates the last operating hour that this range occured in.

If You Have Ignitions in Ranges 3,4,5 & 6...... There is a LikelyHood That Porsche Could Refuse Warranty Cover.............

That is Why They Want to Clear these Registers.............

Re: You cannot delete over Revs with Durametric

Where's my allignment settigns Karel?!

PS. Assuming a Softronic rev-limiter of 7700, how likely is it one gets Range 3 ignitions (assuming 0 from over-rev due to down-shifting, that is)? I mean, when you bounce off the limiter, it doesn't ever let you go to, say, 7720 or so, does it? What I'm essentially asking, is: Is there a point to ask for Softronic map of 7650max instead of 7700?
