Removing Tiptronic Gear Knob

Could someone give me some simple instructions on how to remove the tip gear knob? Many thanks.

Did you replace the tip gear knob with something else?

thanks alot!!! im going to look for that hole in the back of the wheel
now i just need left side tiptronic button hmmm....

i tried suncoast and local dealership..they are 395$each!!....

Yes I did & here are a couple of pics....first pic is the plastic insert of the shift knob, OEM color was volcano grey, got it painted to Alum-look silver; second pic is the whole shift knob wrapped in siilver carbon fiber.

While I am at it, a couple more pics of what else I have painted...first pic is the airvent surround, OEM color was volcano grey, again painted to Alum-look silver; second pic is seat airbag cover, also painted to Alum-look silver to match the seat back cover.

Yay,

with help from the board I was finally able to take off my shifter and cover the leather with carbon fiber cloth and I'm happy camper
