    Changing steering wheel in 997

    Hi,

In law has a 997 Porsche Targa 4s 'auto' and isn't happy with the wheel...

Basically wants paddles instead of the buttons. Has he got any options?

He's not very internet savvy so i said i'd enquire for him, dealers not very helpful.

    Many thanks in advance,

If you're asking about options regarding replacing the push/pull pdk thumb levers with paddle shifters the answer is yes you can do this, but a new steering wheel is required to do the swap.

Yes i am but the car is pre-pdk i believe. Can you provide any more detail?

He's happy to cough up for a new wheel but needs more info on parts/suppliers etc and crucially compatibility!

    Thanks again

Champion Motoersport has such a conversion, but you have to send them your wheel. More info is here:

    Thats useful, thank you!

The literature makes reference to PDK throughout, i understood the 2007 911 was not PDK though, its tiptronic. Am i missing something?
