For some reason, can't find my owners manual. Does anyone know where I can get one? Has anyone bought one from the dealer? Its an '09. Do I even need the owners manual?
Yes, you really should read through the Owner's Manual . . . if you bought a new, or even used car, from the dealer I don't understand why they didn't include a manual. You might check with your salesman about that - they might keep them stashed somewhere separately from the car, and forgot to give it to you.
I bought the car new 8 months ago. I just lost the manual. I have no idea where it is. I guess I can download the 2010 copy. Thanks for the link. I am getting my service (1st oil service) done at an aftermarket Porsche place in Northern NJ. I was wondering whether they needed the manual for anything (i.e. record the service job done). Any ideas?
There's a separate Warranty/Service manual included with your documentation that has places for the service dept to record/stamp their service - maybe you could pick up another copy at your P dealer (though keeping the receipt/service ticket from the aftermarket place should be sufficient evidence of service).
I just did a quick cross-check between my 2009 Owners Manual and the 2010 version available for download. There are few minor differences including parts of the section on Child Restraint Systems (pages 50-54) and Car Telephone and Aftermarket Alarms (pages 103-105). The section on Roof Transport System was moved (from page 108). Otherwise, the two manuals look virtually identical.
