I guess I'm kinda blah on the subject. If you've never been then by all means go. I just struggle with the reason to keep going. It seems mostly like an event for the extremely wealthy to get their toys out and drive them and show them off to the masses. Once I've seen and heard those cars is there really a reason for me to see and hear them again every 4 years? The lineup doesn't drastically change and they aren't giving rides in the cars or letting me drive them so again I'm kind of lost as to what the repeat attraction of the event is other than to say you were there or hob knob with rich Porsche owners etc. The only reason that draws me back is to catch up with some long distance friends in person but I could do that in a lot of other ways as well. Am I missing something?
Sounds like you are not based on your reply. RRV was my first so maybe after a few more, I'll feel the same was you.
I thought it was terrific to be at the center of the Porsche universe for 3 days with so many like minded people.
This event is the only way I'll ever get a chance to get so up close and personal to these Porsche cars and drivers (Pit Row Suite seats made this event a lot more comfortable and PR access was an added bonus). While the PRS seats were not cheap, having to come up with the cash every four years should be possible even for a tight wad like me.
I will say the Parade Lap was about as lame as can be. Too many cars with not enough spacing. There is a Miata event there every year and they get to do hot laps. I know, I know, it is Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, after all.
