Hehe Hyundai Genesis 3.8

Anyone take a look at the Hyundai Genesis coupe w/ 3.8L and LSD?
The specs of it are so similar...306HP ...and LSD. I expect a bunch of people with these cars will always try to race me or something....*shakes head*
Time for the TPC turbo and LSD upgrade LOL...

Re: Hehe Hyundai Genesis 3.8

Buy a Hemi Cuda or something if you're concerned about getting beat at the stoplights. Or better yet, buy what I have, a 2008 Suzuki b-King. 0-100 in 5.2s and 1/4 mile in 9.8s @ 142 mph.

But really, the Hyundai and the Cayman are totally different cars for comparing to - that said, yes, the Genesis Coupe could be packing a might wallop when it comes to acceleration. It is great to see Hyundai even being discussed on a Porsche forum - who knew!

Unfortunately, if I don't learn to respect it before it teaches me, the morgue or the hospital awaits! Seriously, I've been riding for 33 years and a lot of that on big bore sport machinery. These things do need, and demand, respect. Acceleration is borderline violent as they get on to the meat of the powerband. The CS, by comparison, is a little more forgiving!

Re: Hehe Hyundai Genesis 3.8

In 1983, I bought one of the first Honda 750 Interceptors, at the time one of the most advanced sportbikes available. As I recall, it ran the quarter in 11.42 @ around 116 mph. Today those times are almost laughable, and exceeded by a number of supercars. At any rate, I stopped riding some years ago when I noticed I was thinking mostly about which brain dead driver talking on a cellphone was going to take me out instead of how much fun I was having. My wife likes my having one less means of doing myself in and she lets me buy Porsches, so it's all good. I certainly do understand the superbike attraction though.

Yeah, I can relate to quitting riding due to the concern of brain dead drivers. I took my advanced riding course through MSF in 1998 and just the education I gained through that made me think much more like a computer as I ride. Unfortunately, or depending how you look at it, maybe fortunately, it has just about ruined the pleasure of riding in the city as the 'opportunities' for incidents there is high. So, I ride pretty well out in the country and have many fewer intersections, therefore left turners, rear enders, etc to concern with. More bambi's, higher speeds, lane crossers, etc have to be dealt with but the frequency of possible encounters is lower and the brain doesn't have to be processing at the speed of light (if it ever could! lol). The Interceptors were neat bikes - never rode one but did ride the Sabre 750, the mild mannered cousin, and eventually ended up owning three different VFR's, which were descendants.

Apologies to the OP for stealing the thread........
