A perfect weather day at Quonset Point, RI on 6/27 for the annual Air Show. Definitely worth the long drive. Over 1600 hundred photos to go over, but here are the highlights so far:

F-22 creating some vapor...

I looked up from my computer this week and saw this.

And after taking off he did a fly by.

It's good to see (and hear) hueys still flying. Though I'm probably the only one to zero in on that. The army did a sling load with a hummer for an airshow??? This reminds me though, I've got to work on getting myself a F-22 while prices are good...

The F-22 looks larger than I thought it would against an F-16, is that right? F-16 doesn't look outdated yet at all.

Yes, the F-22 is a bit larger than the F-16, about the same as the F-15 Eagle. The F-14 Tomcat (retired) is still the size champ however!

Thanks delman! Stuff like this why I originally started collecting camera equipment. It came in handy after getting the Cayman!

They actually did two demos with the hummer. Later in the afternoon, they dropped the thing in the field for the combined arms demo with C130's, A-10's and the copters.

Pete your photography is simply amazing. I LOVE airshows, but have never been any good at memorizing the airplane names much beyond the very famous ones such as the F-16, U2, F-22, Mustang....etc

This picture, of yours, is AWESOME.....and scary at the same time. Imgaine that puppy coming at (and for) you????
