Exclamation Goodbye my friends!

Dear friends, and I consider all of you my friends, the time has come for me to take a break from Planet-9, the site I launched as planet-9.com almost 5 years ago. I will miss all of you but have every confidence in our current moderator team to keep the site running smoothly and moving forward in a positive direction. It isn't only our moderator team either, it is you the member population that makes this site what it is, and I will miss interacting with you while I am away. How long will I be gone? I don't know, but there are things in my life right now taking precedence over my car, this website and other hobbies I am involved with and I need to focus on those things. Doing so would mean that I simply don't have the amount of time I've had in the past to spend here and I regret that, but short of cloning myself there is no other alternative. I don't want to do things here half-way or without the attention that items here deserve, I just simply cannot devote that amount of time and attention at the present time so the best solution as I see it is to step away and take some time off. I wish all of you the very best and please keep the faith, have fun and continue to make this a great place to be.

Sincerely,
Ken

Thanks Ken for creating a site that provided the info that allowed me to build a car that I will enjoy for years to come. All the best to you and your family as you re-prioritize. Hope to see you back here soon.

Re: Goodbye my friends!

Is this real?? Are you serious??

I'm guessing you are, and no one is in a better position to decide what you should do but you. I think I speak for everyone here and for myself when I say you will be greatly missed

And I do hope you can come back soon, real soon!

Re: Goodbye my friends!

You will be sorely missed and are the heartbeat of this site. I hope whatever is pressing passes and you come back. You created a wonderful fraternity here of Cayman owners. All the best to you.

Re: Goodbye my friends!

Cayman Club and it's subsequent evolution are a testament to your skills and talent. You began CC when other Porsche forums advocated its members "distance themselves from the Cayman". Job well done.

I'm still fairly new here, but I thank you for the place you've created. I know the site will miss you bein' around, because it seems as if you're a wealth of knowledge in regards to these vehicles. Again, thank you. And I wish you the best in whatever you have goin' on in life.

Re: Goodbye my friends!

Ken,

This is the only website I participate in and visit on a regular basis. Thats because of the great job you did and the sensible community of Porsche owners that visit this site! Job well done and good luck to you and yours in the future! P.S.: Loved the article you wrote about the Jaguar...one of my favorites!

Re: Goodbye my friends!

We all came from different aspects of life with mainly nothing in common but one; i.e. a passion for our Porsche toys. We became addicted to this community as you provided guidance to all of us with this rich open database and at times one-on-one !

God bless you and your family as we look forward to hear about your good news and success.

You bet... you'll be missed !

Re: Goodbye my friends!

You've given a lot of your time to this place Ken. If anyone knows that, I do. I'm sure you enjoyed most of it. A forum like this can become a big part of all our lives. It sounds like you have bigger priorities right now, and I think you said it well. This is a car club. Though it is part of many of our lives, it is still a hobby and as such it's understandable that there may be higher priorities in life. We can easily assume that family and career may be included in the higher priorities that will pull you away from here.

I want to personally wish you the best in whatever that priority is. You have a good thing going here with great volunteers leading it. Planet-9 will be fine. Do what you gotta do and we'll see you back here soon enough.

Peace...!

Re: Goodbye my friends!

I have been a member since December of 08, when I first got the Cayman bug... This is definitely the only place i have checked and read almost every day. I was surprised at the culture that exists here, one of the reasons i did purchase the Cayman in the first place.

Wish you all the best, and Hope you will be back to check on us once in a while!
