 Porsche Announces Turbo S for Geneva - Porsche has announced a new Turbo "S" version of the 997 Turbo which will be shown at the upcoming Geneva car show. Here is the information from the Porsche website:
Stuttgart. The engineers at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, have developed a new top-of-the-range sports car for the customer who will only settle for the very best in terms of power, performance and driving dynamics: the 911 Turbo S. The heart of this most exclusive high-perfor-
mance athlete is of course a six-cylinder boxer boosted by two exhaust gas turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, with an increase in power over the 911 Turbo by 30 to 530 bhp (390 kW). Maximum torque is a most impressive 700 Newton-metres (516 lb-ft). At the same time this new top model comes as standard with all high-tech components available only as options on the “regular” 911 Turbo.

 BGB MOTORSPORTS CONTINUES PORSCHE CAYMAN DEVELOPMENT FOR MULTI-CAR PROGRAM FOR 2010
(Ormond Beach, FL, USA - January 25, 2010) BGB Motorsports has announced their intentions to support a multi-car Porsche effort for the full 2010 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series season, after running a limited schedule in 2009. The program will feature the first two Porsche Cayman S race cars to be campaigned professionally in North America. Both Cayman race cars and the team's proven, race winning Porsche 911 are entered for next week's Grand-Am Continental Tire Fresh From Florida 200; cars participating in the 2.5 hour event will cover roughly 200 miles, with the

 Looking Back to Move Forward! Greetings Planet-9 members, Porsche owners and enthusiasts and welcome to 2010! I hope that everyone here had a happy and joyous New Year and that you are looking forward to 2010.
2009 was a very busy and sometimes tumultuous year. We began the year as Planet Porsche having changed from CaymanClub.Net in order to represent that the site would be catering to all Porsche owners and enthusiasts even though our roots were firmly in the Cayman community. Not long after we made this change the folks in the administration of PCA decided that they wanted to go a different direction with the Cayman Register and I stepped down as the PCA advocate and recommended one of my moderators for the position. This was followed by Porsche, now under new ownership, taking a hardline stance with regard to domain names that have Porsche in them.
