http://www.planet-9.com/gallery/files/3/daytonagt4.jpg Planet-9 is proud to help sponsor and promote the first ever GT4 focused event at Daytona International Speedway on December 3rd - 6th 2015! This event is a GT4 Owners and Waiters Rendezvous in Daytona Beach, FL. The Ohio Valley Chapter Audi Club has graciously extended an invitation to all GT4 owners to participate in their very cool High Performance Drivers Education event (see article) at the world famous Daytona International Speedway. Wow! The Speedway is an awesome venue for a GT4 Owners gathering as it is the home of the Rolex 24Hr Race - where in 2013 Team BGB proved to the world that a 3.8 liter powered Cayman took a podium finish in this grueling race, which ultimately led the #38 car to win the series Championship.

GT4 Seminar: John Tecce will host a GT4 Tech Seminar at the BGB Motorsports garage located 20 minutes up the road in Ormond Beach, FL on Thursday evening Dec 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] at 7:00 pm. This is a free seminar to all GT4 owners, waiters and enthusiasts.

Accommodations: The Host Hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn at the Speedway. They are offering us a room rate of $99. Additionally, we’ve made arrangements for a dinner on Saturday night. Both venues will have pre-arranged parking so we can line up the Crocs in a segregated congregation.

GT4 Suspension Set Up: John and crew from BGB will conduct suspension adjustments and provide track day support for your GT4. This will give you the opportunity to test the various settings Porsche has designed into the GT4 on the track at the discounted rate of $375 per day (50% off his normal rate).

High Performance Drivers Ed Registration and Fees: Audi Club HPDE fees are $1,200 for all three days / $1,000 for two days / $600 for one day. Instructor, garage, and camping fees explained on the attached Mail-In Registration form or go to the On Line Registration.

For complete details, contact informaton, etc. please download the attached event flyer in PDF format

Very cool. Thanks for posting, ken. I hope we get a good turnout of GT4s - would love to see all the colors lined up together on the starting grid!

The DE is open to anyone to attend so bring your new toy, likewise you can go to other GT4 specific events as long as you coordinate that with Matt via the instructions in the PDF attached to the first message. I thought about bringing my Cayman GT down to embarrass those lowly GT4 owners. :) :) :)

Sorry, no convertibles are allowed on the track Steve. But, I like your plan! In addition to the diversions on the beach, you can always check out the GT4 seminar at BGB, hang out at the track and watch the crazies go WOT around the 31 degree banks, and in general hang out with us.

Having run this event for the last several years in my Cayman and 944 turbo PCA club race car, let me say that the Audi club puts on a great event and is well worth the cost. Add this to the fact that it is the Rolex course and it is Daytona with its high banks makes it even better. It really is a must do at some point for any Porsche owner who wants to experience a very unique track and in such a great car as the Cayman. The Audi club also brings in a great photographer so you have some great options for some great shots of you, your car, at the great track. Finally, I have had the pleasure of knowing John and all the great people at BGB Motorsports for many years and they are great in track support, knowledge and will help you out in so many ways. His shop is great and should be a must do if you are in on Thursday. His knowledge of all things Cayman is beyond approach. Hope to see you there. I will be there with my 2014 red Cayman and my 1986 944 turbo race car (red with number 969) so stop and say hello. Terry

I did want to emphasize that even if you don't want to run on the track, we'd love to have you come out in your GT4. I think it would be enjoyable time to visit and talk with other like-minded enthusiasts.

* BGB's seminar is open to all GT4 Owners, Waiters, and Enthusiasts. John reports that he as been receiving RSVPs.

* HPDE on Daytona Speedway - even if you don't want to run your car with the Audi group on the speedway, you are welcome to come hang out with us. It truly is a special place in motorsports history.

* Social - We have made arrangements with the Chart House in Daytona for the Saturday night gathering. This is a great steak house located on the water. Will have special segregated parking for GT4s, and a cocktail hour.

Roll call: Who's In for this GT4 meet up?

Ladies and Gents, we have less than a week away and no one has signed up for the track support/driver coaching portion of the event. We are trying to decide whether or not to cancel given the lack of participants. Several people have inquired as to whether or not they can just attend the technical seminar. At this point we need a head count on that to decide if we scrap the whole thing. Sorry to have gotten anyone excited; lots of out of state folks have expressed interest but at this point we just need to decide how to proceed. Thank you.

I sincerely hope people come, but I can understand that many still don't have their cars or live in parts of the country which are now facing winter conditions when they aren't going to be driving their GT4. I was planning on coming but accepted a new position that will require my attendance elsewhere so I will have to miss both the tech session (PLEASE VIDEO IT SO IT CAN BE SHARED HERE!) as well as the track event.

Ken, before i forget, you have had this event on your home page for over 3 months and i just wanted to say thank you for doing that for us. It will not be for lack of trying! Sorry you can't make the event but congrats on the new job!

Take care.

This week! Getting excited.

Loading my GT4 tonight. I will get the front wrapped with Xpel this week by favorite installer in Tampa, then doing some Viking Yachts boat sales business in Palm Beach, before heading to John's seminar at the BGB shop Thursday night at 7:00 PM. Will check into the Hilton Garden Inn around noon, then plan to visit the track for a Tram Ride courtesy of the Ohio Audi Club.

All GT4 enthusiasts are invited out to the seminar!!! Ormond Beach is centrally located to most Florida cities. If you plan on coming out, please PM me with an RSVP so John can anticipate how many.

If you can't make it to the seminar, bring your GT4 out the track on Friday or Saturday for a little "like minded" bonding. Then, its drinks and dinner as we have a GT4 owners rendezvous at the Chart House Steakhouse Sat night. I am planning to depart Sunday for the trip home so only running Fri and Sat.
