Wow... Can you believe it's June already. The track season and Summer of 2009 is well under way. Whether you prefer back roads or main straights to get your adrenaline, Softronic has come up with some very cool new packages to help you maximize the rush.
Chances are, you've already seen or read about the SRP package. If so, you may have also read that the SRP packages deliver best results with a free flowing exhaust system. What goes in must come out, right...? So let's take a look at what's new from Softronic, the MaxSpeed NHP Stainless Steel Exhaust system.
The MaxSpeed NHP Catback exhaust delivers the following benefits:
Constructed of fully polished T-304 Stainless Steel that will last long and look great
Mounts to the factory exhaust hanger for superior vibration control
Two piece design mirrors factory construction to provide a perfect fit
Connection pipes incorporate heat shields to protect your suspension
Dual path straight through muffler design reduces resonance while providing excellent flow characteristics and sound
Docile sound that transforms into mean sound under WOT
Systems are available with or without catalytic converters
System utilizes factory Tailpipe and Tip assembly for a clean stealth look
Optional Dual Opening Stainless Steel tips are available for a more aggressive look
3 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty
It's just a matter of time before someone asks for a sound clip, so here you go. Please keep in mind that camera microphones and computer speakers can never really accurately reproduce the sound of a car, but this will give you a pretty good idea:

If that's not quite enough for you, you might be interested in adding these:
The headers are catless. But you may have noticed that both the catback and headers have several O2 sensor bungs. This provides several configuration options including:
Catback with Catalytic Converters (4 Cats, 2 in the stock headers + 2)
Catback without Catalytic Converters (2 Cats, in the stock headers)
Catback + Headers and Cat Converter (2 Cats)
Catback + Headers, totally catless (Race Use)

Softronic is offering these exciting new exhaust options in conjunction with our proven software flashes. When combined, these pacakges will deliver the most potetial you can get without serious engine modifications.

Reason: Added Package C
I'm sure a lot of us were hoping to see a package without the actual exhaust. I just spent a small fortune on my exhaust last summer so I was really hoping to see a package without the exhaust.
Think you could put something like this together for us?
The plenum is the piece that goes between the Cayman throttle body and the intake runners. The factory piece is a long black plastic tube with a divider down the middle. There are aftermarket replacements which are designed to allow the air to flow easier/faster into the engine and increase horsepower and torque.

The Softronic Race Plenum or SRP has always been available by calling us. I will not sell just the plenum with out a flash since it will NOT gen more HP as others have thought. This would apply to any just Plenum bolt on. The plenum in its design has to have a flash to offset the standard dual chamber. Softronic first started the Flash with plenum and with a larger TB for specific reasons. We also use the exact size TB so that the lower Torque and HP below 3.5k is at a min with stock exhaust.
You may call us at 203-723-8928 for the package that you described
Best,
Scott

Thats funny. I think plenty of us with the SRP are wondering what a header+catback addon package would look like.

damn that seems like a sweet deal! As I plan my next mod, I was all set to do the SRP + flash and then add an AWE exhaust but this might just persuade me to do the whole package!!
Do you have any dyno graphs with package B (both with cats and without)?

(yes I searched, no I didn't see any direct answers - likely since it will probably be that "it depends on the dealer", but...)
What would the Plenum/Exhuast combo do to the factory warranty. My car is a 2007, but has the certified 100k mile factory warranty on it?
Thanks,
Ben

Catback + Headers and Cat Converter (2 Cats)
So this would consist of headers w/cats on them?
No. It would consist of catless headers, and an exhaust system that has cat converters. Your O2 sensors would be relocated to watch those cats instead of the header cats. There are distinct reliability advantages to getting the cats further away from the engine.

I wish we could put a filter in that would look for the phrases "do to the factory warranty", or "will it void my warranty", or "what about my warranty", etc.... that would pop up a precanned response.
This is the same question with the same answer. Legally, in the USA, a dealer CANNOT void your warranty based on the installation of an aftermarket device/part/accessory. It's against the law (Google Magnuson/Moss). They can however deny covering a specific repair under warranty if they can prove that a modification caused the failure. This is often very difficult. And it doesn't stop dealers from hassling you or trying to deny claims that you have to fight. It all comes down to the dealer. Some are mod friendly, some are not. Ultimately, the minute you modify your car in any way, you risk the warranty hassle.
Perhaps we should add a FAQ titled 'Modifications and Warranty'. Any volunteers want to write the text draft?

I agree and apologize if this topic/question has been a redundant one (and yes I did search some of the favorite keywords up there) w/out wonderful results. Though this was probably due to me not mining the results well enough and also wanted to see if it was any different w/ the certified used warranties.
(adding it to the FAQ is a great idea since from the response - sounds like it's a frequent question)

GB,
I think you already wrote it - that really covers it w/o getting verbose.
I do not think you would want one. You need the exhaust.

One more. There is no need to relocate O2 sensors under ANY option with Softronic. Code takes care of the CEL, so you can run catless if you wish.
If I have not build a pretty much identical package myself, I would have bought this.
I have SRP, FabSpeed catless headers, and Cargraphic sport exhaust with cats. I am pretty sure I paid more than the offer here.
Gator, this is the package you should be testing next!
PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust System
The acoustics of this dual-mode sports exhaust system are dependent on driving style, ranging from standard output during normal road driving to a more aggressive tone during performance use. Modes are selected using a button on the center console (or ‘Sport’ mode button on vehicles with optional Sport Chrono Package/Sport Chrono Package Plus).
Introduction planned for 04/2007. Some models may require additional components. For detailed information about this product, please contact your Porsche dealer.
