Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Now that's Entertainment! We are happy to announce that Dension has provided us with a special combo for any 2005 or newer Porsche Cayenne with PCM. The combo consists of the ever popular Dension Gateway 500 combined with the new Dension AVR video unit to display video on the PCM screen. The Gateway 500 enables iPod, Bluetooth and USB connectivity into the Porsche PCM system. Many of our members have added this product to their Porsches. The AVR unit, however, works with the Cayenne ONLY. (This is because Porsche made the Cayenne's PCM unit with an input that can be used for video, other Porsche cars do not have this) The AVR unit allows you to play video from sources such as iPod and DVD. Now you can bring along your favorite video or movie and watch them in the Cayenne!

The Auction is now LIVE and will run for 10 days here: Dension Gateway 500 & AVR Video Unit - Classifieds
The auction winner agrees to photograph and document the installation process in an article that will be published in our ARTICLES section. Please do not bid unless you agree to these terms. The Auction is a NO RESERVE auction so here is your change to pick up not one, but two great products at a heavily discounted price!

If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.

Re: Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Wow 80 people have looked at it, and not a single bid yet? You could get this for $5 and no bids? No one out there with a Cayenne?

Re: Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Ken,
I am thinking about it but it appears my only gain would be the video. I have a 2009 S with the ipod, bluetooth, usb stick and aux already. Am I missing something else I would gain from the 500 besides the video? The ipod already shows up and the screen and is easily controlled. It is my wife's car and should would be pissed if I screwed up the car.

That's true that if you have one of the newer factory systems that have the ipod input then what you gain is the video. I don't think you can add just the video component to a 2009 PCM though as it plugs into the Gateway 500. I don't think the GW500 woudl screw up your wife's PCM but would give it yet another option for ipod control which you might find redundant. Was 2009 the first year for ipod control on the Cayenne? If so then we are likely looking for a 2005-2008 model Cayenne owner.

Re: Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Ken,
She would be afraid I would screw it up. Yes, 2009 was the major update for the PCM and that is why we waited for our purchase. I sent FranklinCayman a PM because he has a older Cayenne Turbo and since he is the electronics mode upgrade I thought he might be interested.

Re: Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Frankin, how do you like it? Would you recommend it to another Cayenne owner here to pick up in our auction?

Re: Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Would someone mind posting this offer on some other sites where Cayenne owners will see it? A few days have gone by and no one has even bid on it yet. I'm starting to get concerned that we won't get someone to do an article who wants a screaming deal on this. I mean right now you could get it for $5. (Although I certainly hope the bidding goes higher!)

Re: Cayenne Video System from Dension!

Ken, I bid $100.00 and it showed up as 25 cents. I tried to bid $100.00 again and got a message that my bid was too low.

Weird, it should have shown up as $100.00, but what it might be doing is that the $100.00 is your "max" bid so it entered a minimum bid for you until someone else bids then it will autobid you up until you reach your $100 cap. I'll have to check into it, but I suspect that's what is going on...

I can send you a paypal invoice once I get your address and zip code for shipping. The units are en route to me from Dension at the moment and should be here any day so I didn't want you to pay for them until I had them in hand and could get the shipping to you calculated and then get you a final bill. Looks like you got a steal on these so I'll really be expecting a top quality install article! (See Gator Bite for help in that dept.)
