The reason that the prices are on my website rather than on the thread is because of all the different options that you can choose....I'll try and answer specifics for you:

The product looks fantastic. My questions are: can the gen 1 mesh grilles be had without the logo, and for all three front pieces for a Cayman s are they snap in? Are there instructions you can send me?

There is NO Logo on any Cayman or 997 grilles

Allan, are the grills for tip (assume center radiator) and manual mutually exclusive? I'm considering adding the center radiator on my manual and wonder how that would work out with these?

Just out of curiosity, for now, has anyone considered how laser shifters and a radar receiver could be fitted with these in place? I'd expect metal screen to effect radar reception but no idea how it would laser shifters.

Les, the centre grille for manual has two "prongs" to hold it in place and although the tip is the same shape externally it fits like the outers on clips.

Alan, Don't you sleep. Rather late on that side of the world. I am sorry to say that I'm going to have to wait till after the GB is over to do anything with this. Definitely interested though.

Is manual to tip a possible conversion with this grill? Or would it be simpler to just buy the different one?

As to the Escort I wasn't worried about it fitting but that there would be a reduction in signal strength and hence range. Seems like the cops are trying to fix the local government economy single handedly...

Ok, here I am liking these grilles after looking into my cooling intakes. Problem is I forgot I have a 9500CI installed; meaning the laser portion is installed in these openings , leading to my next problem. Where the heck do I move them to?

Ok, the way mine is installed I will have to move them around a bit but its great info. At least I know it will work from behind the mesh. I actually hit a truck recap last spring that broke one of my right grilles, it is still attached and doesn't show. These should help prevent further incidents. I still have to find a way to get in and get the leaves out of the darn radiators.

CHRIS -- if you have a vacuum cleaner, there might be an attachment that is pointy and slim. I get this piece 8 inches into the grilles which is enough to thoroughly suck out any leaves / debris.

I use a length of 1/2" inner-diameter clear plastic tubing, like is used on fluid pumps, about four feet long. I shove one end of the tubing into the end of a powerful vacuum hose, wrapping my hand around the end for a make-shift seal, and use the other end of the plastic tubing to get between the grille louvers and vacuum out the debris. It is amazing how much junk gets in those scoops! The tubing is small enough and flexible enough to get into all of the nooks and crannies.

The first time I cleaned out the scoops I remember thinking what lame product development rigor those open scoops represent. I guess they don't have trees and road debris in Germany. Right. The mesh would look a lot better on the inside of the louvers. On our Gen2 Boxster it looks like removing the bumper to install grills would be the only option.

I've used the crevice tool attachment on my vacuum to attempt to inhale those leaves, but it isn't quite long enough. I don't see how 1/2" ID tubing would be of much help unless it is used just to grab a single leaf to be removed by hand. I have successfully removed most of the leaf litter in the radiator areas, but plan on getting some plastic tubing to make a flexible extension to reach in there for the remaining debris. I did notice a little deformation of the radiator fins from debris strikes...and my Cayman is only a couple of months old. Alan's grills are bound to be a big inhibitor of this issue, and I think they look great and would have loved to have had them yesterday. Not having to remove the front bumper is a huge plus, not to speak of fabricating a screen for each side.

I'm not one for making suggestions that don't work. This one does. Tubing larger than 1/2" ID won't get down into the valley at the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side. I should mention that I'm using a very powerful vacuum to do this, but any good full-size shop vac will work fine.

Evidently I haven't had enough time to accumulate small enough debris to be sucked up through the 1/2" ID tubing....plus, I'm using my household vacuum with the crevice tool attachment. I can see how the small stuff could be retrieved by the powerful shop vac. Had no intention of stepping on toes...sorry if you saw it that way!
