http://www.planet-9.com/gallery/files/3/ledlightbarnews.jpg Eliminate your 2006-2008 Cayman's circa 1995 fog-lights while updating it beyond the Gen 2! Manufactured in the U.S.A. of polypropylene T20 (just like Porsche original equipment), these 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards absorb impacts, and with 100% color impregnation, chipping is eliminated. The wide-angle ultra-high-output LEDs on these spars create greater visibility and yield over 10 years of service. The extra strong polypropylene mesh protects your A/C condensers and radiators while adding a touch of the Porsche GT3 aesthetic.

Providing a truly a plug-n-play installation, anyone capable of replacing a fog-light bulb can install these LED Spars. The water resistant installation is easily reversed to return to the stock configuration. The 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards will ship to you as a pair (driver and passenger side) complete with easy to follow step-by-step instructions and all of the necessary supplies to produce a professional installation. Cayman enthusiast Ken Kushman was one of the first to receive the "First Article"*. His installation, complete with 40 pictures is documented here: LED Spars with Radiator Guards - Articles

This product has a limited one-year warranty against any electronic defect within the LED array (circuit board or component LEDs), the wiring pigtail or its BAX9S connector (which interfaces with the OEM wiring harness). This warranty has no provision for damage due to misuse, modification, impact, accident, collision or failure to follow the waterproofing step as described in step #15 from the supplied installation instructions.

In the unlikely event that one or more LEDs malfunction (out of warranty) or are damaged, replacement LED array assembly complete with circuit board, 15 component LEDs, pigtail, BAX9S connector and installation supplies are available for $49 (per each; plus S&H). We will be happy to provide the labor and potting material to install your replacement LED array assembly. You would assume shipping costs to return a damaged or out of warranty unit to us along with your payment for the replacement LED array.

Joe,

Many thanks for sending the spars to Max, much appreciated.

Just so I'm clear on this: I think Joe's product is professionally done and looks great. I had Max create a version that matches the mesh used on the rest of the car. So.. nothing wrong with Joe's product as is, but it is nice to have this option. Good work gents!

Washed the car yesterday, and can I just say how EASY it is to wash the front of the car now? It's EASY! No more fidgeting with the round fog lights and the silly horizontal bars underneath. Just a simple swipe with the soapy mitt to wash them, and then a simple wipe with the microfiber to dry them. Dayam.
Got to love these LED spars!

Just purchased mine =)

Anyone in Southern California that would be willing to install my spars? Of course I would compensate for time $$... I know its probably really easy, but I'm horrible when it comes to things like this and rather just pay someone to get it right the first time.

Thanks!

hi joe,

i think i forgot to remove the "T fastener" as outlined in step 11, but the spars still seemed to click in without any problems. will there be any problems you think? anyone else have thoughts on leaving the T things in?

I just finished my install, they're amazing and the installation is very easy. I'll post pictures soon. My CS doesn't have Xenon so I'm wondering if anyone has found a replacement headlight bulb to better match the color output of the spars.

Great job Joe on a quality product :)

Hey Mike - I tried that route and bought some expensive Sylvania Ultrastar bulbs and they aren't anywhere close to the spars. I ultimately decided to just do a xenon conversion. You can get great deals on ebay. In fact, I bought a conversion kit that was less than those halogen bulbs. Think most guys are going with the 6k xenon, but I'm giving the 8k a shot since they are a little more blue, like the spars.

I'll put 'em on the car next week, I'm undecided as to how I'll wire'em up. I could wire the LED's same as the current foglights, or as DRL's. Only concern I have as DRL's is longevity, how long before the LED's start to go dark? Do the LED's have an expected life, measured in hours? Do the LED's tend to have a shorter life span if they're turned on & off somewhat frequently? How hard will it be to replace burnt out LED's? :thanks:

Arrived home at 5:15pm. UPS rings doorbell at 5:20pm. At 5:40 pm my car looks like this:

I installed it the conventional way as per the included instructions and it was A SNAP. If you are even a little bit handy don't be intimidated by it.

From 2007 to 2012 in 20 minutes. What a great product. The packaging is even ideal to store your OEM spars!

Thanks Joe!

I'll email Chad but what I was trying to say was that your hyperlink on the previous page to the group buy goes to a '404 - File or directory not found' error. When you go to the group buys on the right hand side of the main page it shows that the group buy is over.

As to why pay more? Well, no reason to do that obviously. I've just seen that historically that if items keep getting manufactured that they actually end up being cheaper because people take them out when they're selling their car or returning the leases car. I was just debating whether or not that was going to be the case with these or not.

The end of the group buy price for the Cayman Spars is almost here. From the Netherlands to the UK to India to Hong Kong to all over the US and Canada, many of you are driving much better looking Caymans. There are about 10 hours left to purchase the Spars at the group buy price. After this evening, the price rises to the regular retail price. You can get your Porsche Cayman LED Spars here for a few more hours. It was a pleasure working with all of you. Thank you for letting DealBird help you with this awesome group buy. - Chad @ DealBird

I installed the spars on my Cayman and the look great! Has anyone had the experience that, counting from the middle of the car out to the edge, that bulbs #14 and 15 don't light while they're switched on? I have pix to show that all 15 LEDs lit when they were first installed, but now my driver's side only lights 13. When I switch the car off, the passenger side has that "delay" in turning off, but on the driver's side, only bulb #13 has the delay, the rest of the LEDs are off.
