http://www.planet-9.com/gallery/files/3/ledlightbarnews.jpg Eliminate your 2006-2008 Cayman's circa 1995 fog-lights while updating it beyond the Gen 2! Manufactured in the U.S.A. of polypropylene T20 (just like Porsche original equipment), these 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards absorb impacts, and with 100% color impregnation, chipping is eliminated. The wide-angle ultra-high-output LEDs on these spars create greater visibility and yield over 10 years of service. The extra strong polypropylene mesh protects your A/C condensers and radiators while adding a touch of the Porsche GT3 aesthetic.

Providing a truly a plug-n-play installation, anyone capable of replacing a fog-light bulb can install these LED Spars. The water resistant installation is easily reversed to return to the stock configuration. The 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards will ship to you as a pair (driver and passenger side) complete with easy to follow step-by-step instructions and all of the necessary supplies to produce a professional installation. Cayman enthusiast Ken Kushman was one of the first to receive the "First Article"*. His installation, complete with 40 pictures is documented here: LED Spars with Radiator Guards - Articles

This product has a limited one-year warranty against any electronic defect within the LED array (circuit board or component LEDs), the wiring pigtail or its BAX9S connector (which interfaces with the OEM wiring harness). This warranty has no provision for damage due to misuse, modification, impact, accident, collision or failure to follow the waterproofing step as described in step #15 from the supplied installation instructions.

In the unlikely event that one or more LEDs malfunction (out of warranty) or are damaged, replacement LED array assembly complete with circuit board, 15 component LEDs, pigtail, BAX9S connector and installation supplies are available for $49 (per each; plus S&H). We will be happy to provide the labor and potting material to install your replacement LED array assembly. You would assume shipping costs to return a damaged or out of warranty unit to us along with your payment for the replacement LED array.

To take advantage of the group-buy, click here : LED Lightbar Group Buy on Dealbird - Order Here!. Orders will be shipped in the order they are received; first orders in are the first orders shipped!

* "First Article" are parts manufactured prior to the start of production for the purpose of ensuring that the mold is capable of producing a product that will meet specified requirements.

Thanks Joe! The Spars took about 10 days to arrive my home and I consider it is pretty fast from US to Hong Kong! Quality is excellent and installation can't be simpler.

I hope you would produce a center grill to match the Spars!

BTW, do you have an official name for this spars? I just think it will be even cooler if it has a name!? :hilarious:

Your car looks great! I really like the wheels. They suit the yellow really well. Spars also look great as always.

Wow Installed the LED Spars this weekend! What an easy and effortless process! LEDs look great and the fit is almost perfect. Just 4 extra mini ties would help hold the mesh more secure though.
For Canadians with the daytime running lights, any methods to fool the system into thinking that the fogs are functioning? The warning/idiot lights come on at start up and the exclamation light remains on as the system senses that the main fogs are not plugged in.
If the site will allow me to post pics I will.
Amazing product

Hello Arbitrageur,

Thank you for posting the picture of my LED spars on your beautiful car in such a beautiful setting!

Just so potential buyers understand, the butane lighter or heat gun is used to shrink down the heat-shrink. It's purpose is to waterproof the spar's electrical pigtail's connection to the car's wiring harness.

Best regards,

Joe

I just ordered mine. It looks like a great product. But Damn, I didn't know the group buy was gonna be over since i have been out of town for 1 month. I didn't realize i was paying $419 until i purchased it. I bet I'm the only sucker to have bought this at $419. I definitely would have been happier with $369:mad:

Hello N0tt0N,

First, thank you for your order. Also, I'd really appreciate if you would find the time to take and post a picture or two of your car with the LED spars installed. I don't want to be selfish however it is really gratifying to me when I see images of converted Caymans!

Best regards,

Joe

Thanks for your reply Joe. I have to think Boxster owners are propotionately interested in this mod as are the Caymen owners. Afterall, the front is the same on both. It may be due to the difficulty we Boxster owners have in having a place to post of our own.

We are always grouped toether with Caymen threads. I admit combining them may make sense given there are many more Caymen owners but I think it does make it more difficult to get the real feedback you need since it is mixed in with largely Caymen topics.

Please don't give up yet! I know there is a potentially profitable market for this with Boxster owners. As your LED's get more press and are seen by the Boxster owners, it may be worth trying to get another survey done in the near future.

Great photo alvinis! For those looking at his lights and the (mis)match, from talking with people who have tried this (me included) the 6K HIDs are not quite blue enough to match the LEDs, but the 8K HIDs are bluer. So, if they made 7K bulbs they may work, but I don't think that frequency/temp is produced.

Hi Joe,

I was one of many who answered the survey in the affirmative, and have been tracking the progress.

I am happy to let you know I have order a set just now.

They look great on some of the photos. Great job!

My only delay in placing the order was, I no longer technically own the Cayman. My wife does.

In looking to upgrade the Cayman, she said we would just have two Caymans in the garage. Her way of telling me if I bought a different car, she was taking mine. So I bought a 911 and have been jealous of "her" car ever since. I continue to to make modifications to the 911 to make it more Cayman like. HR sway bars, GT3 control arms, yadda yadda.

She finally let me know she would like the led spars, so you will be seeing an order to Trenton, Tx soon.

Again, Great job! from the threads, this project has sounded like quite the #*ss whoopin.

Hello STM,

Thank you for your initial interest, following my progress, your compliments, your sympathies and ultimately your order!

The process had more bumps in the road than anticipated however the reward of seeing my LED spars on other Caymans makes it all worth it!

Best regards,

Joe
