Think most guys are going with the 6k xenon, but I'm giving the 8k a shot since they are a little more blue, like the spars.

I'm going to order the Conversion kit. Thanks for the info.

Very nice! I think the body-colored LED spar integrates elegantly on your red Cayman.

    Thanks again,

By the way, the group appears to be over (prior to midnight of the 31st) and one of the links to the group doesn't actually work. I'm procrastinator by nature so figured I'd decide whether to order some tonight ...

Do the LED's tend to have a shorter life span if they're turned on & off somewhat frequently? How hard will it be to replace burnt out LED's?
    Hello hack,

The LED manufacturer's representative explained that this LED is designed to operate at a maximum ambient temperature of 230 degrees F., yielding approximately 30,000 hours of service. That same LED operating at 149 degrees F. would last over 100,000 hours (100,000 hours equals 11.41 years if on 24/7/365).

The service life increases as the temperature decreases so in our typical environment service life estimating is moot. Also, switching (on and off) has no impact on LED's service life. And due to the the hardened epoxy case as well as the lack of a fragile filament they are highly shock resistant...perfectly suited for my application.

I hope this answers your question.

    Thank you!

    Joe

    Hello workhurts,

Thank you for your interest! I'm not sure I understand what link you're referring to. Please direct any DealBird ordering site issues to Chad at DealBird. E-mail to: Chad@DealBird.com

    Why pay more!

I'll email Chad but what I was trying to say was that your hyperlink on the previous page to the group buy goes to a '404 - File or directory not found' error. When you go to the group buys on the right hand side of the main page it shows that the group buy is over.

As to why pay more? Well, no reason to do that obviously. I've just seen that historically that if items keep getting manufactured that they actually end up being cheaper because people take them out when they're selling their car or returning the leases car. I was just debating whether or not that was going to be the case with these or not.

I appreciate your enthusiasm! I'm on vacation until 4/8/12 with limited E-mail access. I've made arrangements for shipping to continue in my absence however I will be unable to personally E-mail each customer with their tracking number (as I have been doing).

I'm using UPS for all customers located in the lower 48 states. My shipping clerk was instructed to insert each customer's E-mail address in the UPS shipping console. UPS should send each customer their tracking information respectively.

It's possibly we entered your E-mail address incorrectly in the system. I contacted my clerk and instructed him to E-mail your tracking number directly to you on 3/31/12.

Alaska, Hawaii and all international customers are being serviced by USPS (United States Postal Service). At the service level these customers are paying for tracking services aren't provided.

I hope this answers tracking questions for many!

    Best regards,

    Joe
    Hi Joe,

I also ordered mine on Thursday with no tracking number received via email (Utah order). I would be interested to see when the LEDs will arrive as Im leaving town early next week.

    Thanks,
    Shaye

The end of the group buy price for the Cayman Spars is almost here. From the Netherlands to the UK to India to Hong Kong to all over the US and Canada, many of you are driving much better looking Caymans. There are about 10 hours left to purchase the Spars at the group buy price. After this evening, the price rises to the regular retail price. You can get your Porsche Cayman LED Spars here for a few more hours. It was a pleasure working with all of you. Thank you for letting DealBird help you with this awesome group buy. - Chad @ DealBird

Just put mine in this weekend along with a DDM Tuning 6000k HID kit, LED sidemarkers, and LED license plate lights. Big thanks to Joe!

Nice sidemarkers! What was your source for the LED bulbs?

Got them off eBay. Heres a link to the sidemarker and license plate lights I used. These worked without throwing any errors.

I installed the spars on my Cayman and the look great! Has anyone had the experience that, counting from the middle of the car out to the edge, that bulbs #14 and 15 don't light while they're switched on? I have pix to show that all 15 LEDs lit when they were first installed, but now my driver's side only lights 13. When I switch the car off, the passenger side has that "delay" in turning off, but on the driver's side, only bulb #13 has the delay, the rest of the LEDs are off.

Thanks Joe! The Spars took about 10 days to arrive my home and I consider it is pretty fast from US to Hong Kong! Quality is excellent and installation can't be simpler.

I hope you would produce a center grill to match the Spars!

BTW, do you have an official name for this spars? I just think it will be even cooler if it has a name!?

Just the sidemarkers and both license lights. I ordered a bunch for the interior which haven't showed up yet. I am not going to mess with the tail lights since I haven't seen anyone on here be able to change those without causing error codes, plus with the full red taillights on my car I don't think LEDs will make too much of a difference.

Your car looks great! I really like the wheels. They suit the yellow really well. Spars also look great as always.

Installed mine yesterday, but one of the tabs was broken or broke off? Regardless, still worked and I must say they look awesome. Thanks again Joe for all the work. I'll post pictures soon.

Wow Installed the LED Spars this weekend! What an easy and effortless process! LEDs look great and the fit is almost perfect. Just 4 extra mini ties would help hold the mesh more secure though.
For Canadians with the daytime running lights, any methods to fool the system into thinking that the fogs are functioning? The warning/idiot lights come on at start up and the exclamation light remains on as the system senses that the main fogs are not plugged in.
If the site will allow me to post pics I will.
