Maybe because the boxster owners aren't closely following a thread for Cayman-specific spars? Then again, the cayman owners seem to far out number the boxster owners on this forum

    Hello PuppyCat,

I think you latter presumption my be a factor. However the thread is a Boxster specific thread; please see http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxst...st-survey.html

Finally found 20 minutes to install my new LED Spars. Took 20 minutes to clean all the cr*p out of the radiators! Very smooth and easy installation. Love it! Thanks!

No matter how hard we try to rid the world of ugly round foglights on spars at the front of cars, some manufacturers just keep making them:

Re: Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards (fits 2006-2008) Group Buy

Thanks for your reply Joe. I have to think Boxster owners are propotionately interested in this mod as are the Caymen owners. Afterall, the front is the same on both. It may be due to the difficulty we Boxster owners have in having a place to post of our own.

We are always grouped toether with Caymen threads. I admit combining them may make sense given there are many more Caymen owners but I think it does make it more difficult to get the real feedback you need since it is mixed in with largely Caymen topics.

Please don't give up yet! I know there is a potentially profitable market for this with Boxster owners. As your LED's get more press and are seen by the Boxster owners, it may be worth trying to get another survey done in the near future.

    Hello MrClean,

I'd like to see more pictures of Caymans with LED spars with PorscheMesh. I'd appreciate if you'd post some pictures as soon as you are able.

    Thank you!

got the 6,000k hid kit installed the same time as the led spars. went with what the shop recommended but it gave me a check rear foglight error. gotta make my way back to see what's up with that. still extremely happy with the results! tnx joe!

BTW, I am getting great feedback from everyone that sees the car. The 'coolest' thing appears to be the LEDs staying on at dimmed levels when the car is locked or unlocked. Oooohs and Aaaaahhss...

I'm glad people are easily amused, like me

Great photo alvinis! For those looking at his lights and the (mis)match, from talking with people who have tried this (me included) the 6K HIDs are not quite blue enough to match the LEDs, but the 8K HIDs are bluer. So, if they made 7K bulbs they may work, but I don't think that frequency/temp is produced.

Do you have any pix of the 8Ks with the LEDs?

I used the original method included in the instructions. The dimmed lights are very menacing in the dark

    Sketchy site... 7000k?

    HID Xenon Conversion Kit

In the pic above with the 6000k, I don't particularly mind the mismatch. I'm just afraid the 8000k will look like all those... you know, those other guys.

I think someone should try this out and tell the rest of us how they are?$50 is a great price too. I wonder how long the bulbs will last.

The website says the price is for one bulb, so it's $100 a pair. The 6K I'm running cost $44 a pair, so $100 is expensive to me! I use my headlights about once a month, so I don't care how long they last...

I got them on EBay from a seller called GT Autohause. Give it a try, see for yourself. You'll have a spare set of bulbs in any case.

    Hello Arbitrageur,

Thank you for posting the picture of my LED spars on your beautiful car in such a beautiful setting!

Just so potential buyers understand, the butane lighter or heat gun is used to shrink down the heat-shrink. It's purpose is to waterproof the spar's electrical pigtail's connection to the car's wiring harness.

    Best regards,

    Joe
