http://www.planet-9.com/gallery/files/3/ledlightbarnews.jpg Eliminate your 2006-2008 Cayman's circa 1995 fog-lights while updating it beyond the Gen 2! Manufactured in the U.S.A. of polypropylene T20 (just like Porsche original equipment), these 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards absorb impacts, and with 100% color impregnation, chipping is eliminated. The wide-angle ultra-high-output LEDs on these spars create greater visibility and yield over 10 years of service. The extra strong polypropylene mesh protects your A/C condensers and radiators while adding a touch of the Porsche GT3 aesthetic.

Providing a truly a plug-n-play installation, anyone capable of replacing a fog-light bulb can install these LED Spars. The water resistant installation is easily reversed to return to the stock configuration. The 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards will ship to you as a pair (driver and passenger side) complete with easy to follow step-by-step instructions and all of the necessary supplies to produce a professional installation. Cayman enthusiast Ken Kushman was one of the first to receive the "First Article"*. His installation, complete with 40 pictures is documented here: LED Spars with Radiator Guards - Articles

This product has a limited one-year warranty against any electronic defect within the LED array (circuit board or component LEDs), the wiring pigtail or its BAX9S connector (which interfaces with the OEM wiring harness). This warranty has no provision for damage due to misuse, modification, impact, accident, collision or failure to follow the waterproofing step as described in step #15 from the supplied installation instructions.

In the unlikely event that one or more LEDs malfunction (out of warranty) or are damaged, replacement LED array assembly complete with circuit board, 15 component LEDs, pigtail, BAX9S connector and installation supplies are available for $49 (per each; plus S&H). We will be happy to provide the labor and potting material to install your replacement LED array assembly. You would assume shipping costs to return a damaged or out of warranty unit to us along with your payment for the replacement LED array.

* "First Article" are parts manufactured prior to the start of production for the purpose of ensuring that the mold is capable of producing a product that will meet specified requirements.

UPDATE 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards

Good news...bad news! I was able to get two pairs of spars shipped today. Also, I'll be shipping three more pair on Monday, 2/20/12.

Today, my injection molder released 17 additional pairs shipping UPS 2-Day and I'm expecting them to arrive here on Tuesday, 2/21/12. Depending on the time they arrive, I may be able to get six or seven more pair out on Tuesday and the balance (10) on Wednesday.

The injection molder stated that he expects his output to be approximately one pair every four minutes so I questioned why only 17 pairs were released. I hope to learn the answer to this question on Monday. I'll keep you updated.

Oh yeah, the bad news. This afternoon, as I rushed to get the two readied pairs into the UPS system, I failed to have my Excel spreadsheet scrolled fully down and I mistakenly shipped the first two orders to orders #6 (224) and #7 (225).

I will resume shipping on Monday, 2/20 with the first order in (219) and continue in the order they were received (please remember that DealBird's order numbers aren't exactly consecutive because they represent many other group buys, not just mine).

Thanks again everyone for your orders and your patience!

UPDATE 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards

Three pairs were shipped to my customers today. Orders #219, 221 and 222. Order #220 ships to Hawaii and will ship via USPS tomorrow, 2/21/12 (USPS closed today due to Presidents' Day).

UPS tracking shows 17 pair will arrive here tomorrow. I'll post an update tomorrow end of day to report how many I was able to complete and what order numbers were shipped.

Thank you!

Hello rsg,

Thank you for your order! Your DealBird order number 333 aligns with my order position 95 on my shipping queue.

If you, and others curious about when their order will ship keep an eye on my updates, you should be able to extrapolate your approximate day of shipping.

I hope this helps!

This is really only a message for 16 of you...

As you may recall, the purchase price of the Cayman Spar included a $20 USD shipping and handling allowance. If you live outside the geographic region covered by that allowance you just got an email from DealBird with a link to pay a final shipping and handling charge.

If you didn't just get an email from DealBird. You are all set. No action is needed.

UPDATE 2006-2008 Cayman LED Spars with Radiator Guards

UPS arrived late morning with 17 pair. I was only able to complete, test and package four pair, not the five I had expected due a slightly late start.

I shipped orders #220 (Hawaii via USPS), 223, 226 and 227. I'll hope to ship ten pair tomorrow!

Best regards,

Joe

Because Joe is using DealBird, there are orders for other products in their system, and so we (the Cayman spar people) do not have consecutive or all of the numbers in that system. So Joe has provided you with a table above to translate your DB number to his order queue position. So, if your DB number is between 365 and 378, then you are between 126 and 130 in Joe's queue. Hope that makes sense.
