Applying Zymol Cleaner/Wax

Hi Guys so I've been tinkering with a few products to clean my new cayman (black)...I used the Meguire's wash, polish, and Zymol wax. I followed the instructions perfectly. However about a day, it seemed as though the areas where I applied the wax were attracting dust. There was actually a pretty distinct delineation between waxed/nonwaxed areas. Did I just not do a good enough job of wiping of the wax?

Re: Applying Zymol Cleaner/Wax

How much wax did you use? With zymöl a little goes a long way!

I have found that zymöl wax will sometimes leave a static charge. That might attract dust. After I finish waxing I always go over my car with Griot's Speed Shine. (There are other liquid detailing products that work just as well.) I find that Speed Shine gives me a more even finish and gets rid of the static charge. If you are using a wax that leaves a powdery residue then Speed Shine will get rid of the residue. (zymöl does not leave a residue if you don't apply too much.)

Re: Applying Zymol Cleaner/Wax

One of the big reasons I switched from zymol to P21S for my black Porsches. No static, no residue (no matter how much you use) and much easier to apply. The results are the same to my eye, without the dust, that is.

Re: Applying Zymol Cleaner/Wax

I use P21s a lot lately. It gives an excellent shine. I would say that it is on a par with most of the zymöl waxes.
