Rejex warning

Orginally I purchased Rejex to protect the Cayman's wheels. I soon found that Wheel Wax was a better product for that. After hearing about Rejex being used as a subsitute for wax I tried it on the GX470 (and just a small spot on the bumper of the Cayman). During the winter it seemed to work well with good protection from bugs and always giving a pretty shine. However now that the dry season is here our road is very dusty and Rejex seems to grab and hold dust like a magnet. Using a California duster on it just moves it around but not off. The Lexus always looks like it was dusted with talcum powder. The dust will wash off even without soap but it is back again before I even get to the paved road. So I used some valuable Cayman time today stripping it off and going back with wax. I think it would work well for someone who lives on paved roads and doesn't have pollen to worry about. But think twice otherwise.

Santa Fe,

A long, long time ago I used this Amway product called Silicone Glaze. Besides making a really nice shine, it actualy kept dust from accumlating. I compared it side by side to different over periods of time. It was so slick it seemed to only get a days worth of duct in about a week. It was pretty cool stuff.

I just didn't like the Amway pitch that you had to go through to get the product ...

I also think that wheel wax is better than the Rejex although I still like the Rejex for chrome and it is a little faster than the Wheel Wax on the rims. However I would no more use Rejex on my paint than I would use chrome polish on it.

My P21S Auto Care Set and Drying Towel arrived today. All I need is my Cayman S, which should arrive at the Dealer any day now. It has been at the shipping terminal for a week! I'm getting twitchy!

If there is a Costco near by they usually have the Fieldcrest 100% cotton Made In USA towels for (I think) $10 for large $6 for the hand towels and $2/4 wash cloths in white... I get them at ours all the time....

Ordered mine from Griots. $69.00 for five towel combo kit or something. I got ripped off but oh well. Good towels I'm sure. They're also labeled, 'Wax', 'Dry' etc....

I buy the Fieldcrest or similar and i get them in the family set! I use the wash cloth to wash the car, the bath towel to dry it first pass, and then the hand towel to do a final drying wipe down and do the door jambs, etc.

Wash in mild detergent, no softner. Keep two sets - that way you have one clean all the time.

And, I use the Zaino system - I have a saphire black M5 and that convinced me. Wheel wax on the wheels every six months.
