Car cover marred finish?

I spent way too much time last week (okay, it was worth it) doing the Zaino process. I did the whole thing, dawn wash, clay bar, Z-7, two coats of Z-2 with Z-6 in between and afterwards. As soon as I was done and everything was dry I covered the car w/ my Noah car cover. It's been raining nonstop for the past few days (with rain in the forecast for the next week).

I lifted a portion of the cover today and a lot of moisture has gotten inside. The hood area had a lot of strange moisture marks. I applied some Z-6 and wiped it off, but it still looks somewhat hazy in certain angles. The vertical surfaces do not look like that. The car looked absolutely flawless after I was done w/ the Zaino process last week. Is this something that will come out w/ another coat of the Z-2 polish down the line (in a few weeks, once the rain has passed)?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Car cover marred finish?

Those were exactly the same marks I saw on my black A4 years ago when I stored it under an outdoor cover. Sorta like a haze around the beltline of the car that wouldn't wipe away.

Thinking back, it was probably light scratches that accumulated over time from the dirt on the car and the weight of the cover rubbing over that area.

However, this sounds different given how well you take care of the finish on the car.

Bring it out into the sun and leave it for a few hours and see if the haze goes away.

Years ago I had a burgundy Pontiac Grand Prix which I kept under a car cover. When it rained I would have white spots along the seam line of the car cover. After the car sat in the for a while the spots went away.

The same thing can happen to a highly waxed table top when a wet drinking glass is left to sit.

Re: Car cover marred finish?

Sounds like the common marring that occurs from car covers.
If you can put an image up of the imperfections I can recommend a solution to remove

Re: Car cover marred finish?

Yes, it should go away during your next polish session. I dont see anything happening that was harsh enough to do any damage to be terribly concerned with.
