Installed a clear bra

Hello, I live in Northern VA. I just got my 08 Cayman and after driving it for 3 days I realized I needed a clear bra to protect my car from all the road constructions in this area, since the car is sitting so low. After doing my research I went to the Xtream auto services. Here is there website Care my Car I got the basic package for $550 which included the front bumper, mirrors, 40% of the hood, headlights, foglights. The owner Sergio also told me he would also include the lower part of the side panels for free of charge + a full detail. He also gave me a ride home, which was nice and told me that he used to work for Ferrari of Washington installing Clear bra. The car was completed yesterday but I haven't gone there to check it out since it has been raining pretty hard since yesterday. Hopefully rain stops today and I can see what my car looks like with the clear bra.

When I was calling diffrent places to get the clear bra installed I was getting quotes from "FULL PROTECTION" for $4200 to $1600 and "Basic Packages" from $1100 to $550. I hope I get a quality work for what I have paid for and it would be enough to protect my car from my daily driving.

Re: Installed a clear bra

Sounds like a good deal. I have a black Cayman S that really shows road rash so a clear bra was a must. A year later and 12K miles, I still love it. When I had my car detailed, they waxed the 3M bra and it looks great again. From just a few feet away, you can't tell it is there. Ed

Re: Installed a clear bra

Ed,
Did you have Concours on Broad do it? Or did Euroclassics do it for you (they normally get Concours to do it, but I am curious. I had Concours just do the full wrap bumper of my 911, and the rear bumperettes, and am now debating the full hood and fenders before it gets chipped. They use 3M 3rd gen film and while I love the sheen (real wet look to it) and the protection, there is inconsistent orange peel depending on how much it is stretched.

Re: Installed a clear bra

Clear Bra was one of the best investments I made when I ordered my new CS. It has paid for itself several times over. For $500+ you made a great deal. Best of luck with it. The roads are tough on the front end paint.

cheers

Re: Installed a clear bra

I really like the clear bra.
I did a full wax job this weekend. It was lil hard to get all the wax out of the grooves between the 3m, but nothing to hard, I just had to go over it with micro fiber couple of more times. I will be driving this during the winter in DC area so I figure it was a good investment. ppl tell me that they can get the bumpers painted for 500 dollars with their hook ups but I would rather have my original paint. Which is Cobalt Blue and More I look at it the More I like it. I actually had a glass of 03 Smith Haut Lafite while just looking at it after my detail. One thing I wish I could have done was that I wish I could have done some serious detail b4 they installed a clear bra. I wonder if that would have made my the paintwork look better. There are only two tiniest bubbles I saw while waxing the car so I was very happy. I also found a tinest lil paint chip on the piller of my trunk which was kinda sad
