On the other hand, you can over
polish a car. Many, many years ago I owned a black Mustang GT. At the time I knew nothing of the fine art of detailing

but I had a Sears rotary buffer and a can of one step polish/wax. (Give a man a new hand tool and there is no telling what will happen.) I polished/waxed that car almost every weekend until I noticed that I worn the paint down to the primer

at places where there was a sharp edge to the body work. So just make sure that you are waxing and not polishing.
