3M Performance Finish vs. Carnauba's

I am (was) a committed P21s user, however, I am intrigued by 3M Performance Finish. My Porsche Dealer gave me a bottle and suggested that I use it on my wheels.........I did.............it does take some of the effort out of washing the wheels now.

Has anyone used 3M Performance Finish on their car? Is it a wax or paint sealant? How is the durability verses the traditional Carnauba's (P21S etc.) and is it easy to apply and buff? Machine or hand?

Can a Carnauba be applied as a top coat to deepen the shine?

I have always been rather skeptical about using a synthetic, but this one, interests me.

3MPF is a synthetic (silicone based) sealant. It'll probably outlast a carnauba wax, although I have no personal experience to back that statement up. Additionally, I cant comment on how hard it is to remove, but you can apply it by machine or hand, whichever you'd prefer. If you want to top w/ p21s, you could still do so.

Re: 3M Performance Finish vs. Carnauba's

I use to avoid the non-Carnuba products, but I don't know now... I switched to using Klasse products on my white CS. Gives a really nice wet look for 6+ months assuming you wash regularly and otherwise keep the paint clean. Plus no white residue at all on the black plastics/rubber.

I'm not sure how it would look on darker colors, but it changed my mind about alternative products vs the more traditional sealer/glaze + carnuba wax I use to apply to my cars.
