Remus and De-Snorked on a Dyno Jet

I just had my CS dynoed today. My car only has Remus Exhaust, De-Snorked, and 14,000 miles on it. I have taken it in the track 3 times. It has 19 inch Carrera S wheel and stock Conti sport. It recorded 279.14 WHP(245.56 ft/lbs)WHP, 282.54 WHP(246.30 ft/lbs), and 281.52WHP(246.85 ft/lbs). I never got the chance to dyno it before the exhaust but I'm comparing it to some other Cayman readings that were stock, which had a reading of 254, 260, 258 HP. Excellent HP reading considering it only had and exhaust and de-snorked. Attached is the dyno image. Thanks to Modacar for making this happen.

I think K-Man S's stock dyno and a few others who have dyno'd stock have been around the same as your current dyno -- around 275 hp.

Just throwing that out there to point out that you can't actually compare different runs on different machines on different days. There is too big of a margin of error.

unless it's the same machine on the same day, it's just numbers!

It was the same machine used on the other Caymans for today. There were Caymans there that have Revo and Miltek and mines have more WHP with just de-snorked and Remus.

Ok, then that sounds about right. I made about 20 hp at the wheels by adding a Fabspeed maxflow catback and EVO intake. (from my base dyno)

The big question here is "what is the real % loss?"

Several stock Caymans have dyno'd higher than others, so really without before and after numbers there is no way to know what, if anything, your mods did. Now I would assume they did something, but we really don't know without before and after numbers.

Sounds like good numbers if other Caymans were running. Dyno jets are always high, I always use a Dyno Jet and I am around where you are with more mods. I am seriously considering changing the Millitek Exhaust, I am just not 100% sold that I am getting as much HP as I can with Exhaust with them. I have already gone through 2 sets of factory cats for some strange reason. I have now eliminated the cats all together and am looking into the Capristo system. Drew

A shop near Seattle recommended the Remus exhaust. How does it sound and does it produce any resonance? They say they are TUV certified, but I don't know if that means anything with regard to performance or resonance.

I have a Billy Boat full exhaust set on my 06 and have had no problems. The set includes headers, cats and exhaust. Great sound a little resonance but you just have to keep the revs in the sweet spot.

Thanks for posting the dyno. It looks like your torque curve in the 3000 to 4000 rpm range is very good and shows much less dip in that area than many of the other Cayman S dynos.

I have been Boasting about my Remus Exhaust for 8 months now and Finally someone proves it with facts.I sincerely hope some of the skeptics out there that dissed me months ago can fit their foot size in their mouth .The Porsche Tuner/Shop Owner that talked me in to it has been racing Porsches and Motorcycles for over 20 years.Sorry to hear they are so hard to get these days though . Thanks for Clarifying the facts

Thanks prodgers. Too bad it's hard to get it. I have logged 2,000 miles on it and the sound is so much better.

The Cayman REMUS racing exhaust is not TUV approved/certified due to its racing nature.
