Porsche models I love (post yours too)
The current poll about a garage queen prompted me to reflect on my younger days of admiring Porsche cars and then to look a few up and post them here. Feel free to post your own:
Mid-50 Porsche Speedster
The one that snagged me at 16....944 turbo
I remember when this car was announced: 959
The most beautiful Porsche ever made! The current Carrera GT
Your turn!

The 911 Trikey... it's just slightly tail heavy...
In reality... the 997 GT3-RS followed by the Cayman S are my two favorite Porsche's...
This is exactly how I'd get mine...
In junior high, when my love of Porsche's began, my favorite Porsche was the 996 GT2. In technology class when our assignment was to make a website, I made a GT2 fan site. I also used to play Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed all the time and the best car in it was the GT2.

I've always loved the 911. Fell in love with the Cayman first time I saw it. I'm not one of those guys who can immediately identify every year and model car at first glance.
But the one that did it for me was the 917. It all started with the movie LeMans. The look and sound of those cars still gives me chills to this day. I watch the DVD once every couple of months. Check out Youtube as there are several posts of the "first lap" from the film.

Ditto on the 911 and 917.
However, YouTube doesn't really do it justice - gotta have widescreen and surround sound for the full effect of the start of the race!

Of those I've driven the Carrera GT is the only one I would categorize as "loved", but I would "love" to try my hand at the RS Spyder!

Being "new" to Porsche cars, I would love it if all of the above posts were accompanied by photos. Can you guys take the time to edit your posts and add a photo of each car you list? Would make a great album of sorts.
Thanks....I really like getting to see the actual cars and not just the number (which as of yet does not mean much).

Porsche - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Has details links to almost every Porsche in the Models section. Not trying to discourage pictures in this thread, but you'll find most if not all there.
As for me, I'll go with the 356, 550, 959, 911 turbo, 944 turbo, Tag-Porsche F1 cars of the 80's with Lauda and Prost, 962, and the Cayman S of course

This thread is about the Porsche YOU love, not about me doing research on all Porsche models. I do that own my own, but I do not have them memorized so it would be nice to see what you are talking about at a glance rather than having to refer back to "wiki" between every other post. Come on, just google the image and copy and paste the link to your post. It is much more efficient as "threads" go. And you know what they say......"this post is useless without pics!"
GO ahead....call me sour grapes. I just think pics made the reading much more interesting.

Out on a limb here
I realize this is more a VW than a Porsche, but I love the 914 - especially "Pumpkin" shown here.
I remember seeing these brand-new in Austin when I was a teenager, thinking how cool they looked and how much fun they must be.
Now, we've got one in the family. And it is actually the first Porsche I ever drove. I took to it like a duck to water... It is a chore to drive, and without A/C is not a summer car for Houston.
