BTW. Did you know that Bob Lutz turned down the opportunity to run Porsche in the early 80's per a book I am readiing titled The Porsche 911. Offer extended by Ferry. Lutz ran Ford's european operation.

Yes, a nice article.

And what was the Autoweek cover photo used to signify Porsche progression through these sixty years? Two mid engine cars, including the 987 Boxster.

Show that to the 911 boys the next time they claim your Cayman or Boxster is not a "real" Porsche. In fact, a photo caption in the magazine states that the reason the original mid engine design did not make production was the fact that it was too expensive. So, I guess you could say that the 911 is the low-cost Porsche for those that could not afford a proper mid-engine.
