Japan-3 people-1 week in a Carrera

I spent 1 week in Japan with my wife and cousin. Our cousin had a 08 Carrera as a loaner as her Cayenne was in the shop. Where the Carrera may be comfortable for 2 persons, for 3 it was downright BAD. Mind you we had no luggage. With my wife in the back and myself in the passengers seat neither one of us was ever comfortable. My wife is 5'3" and 100 lbs. I am 5'8" at 190 lbs. With the seat only slightly forward to allow my wife a little room in the back my legs in the front became fidgety on one trip due to the lack of leg room. I had to get out to stretch them. I could not get into the front passengers seat without hitting my hair on the body's door sill. The passenger’s seat was positioned at the lowest setting and slightly forward from it's back most postion. The lack of a single control mechanism was a pain in the rear end when trying to get my wife in and out of the back. One actually has to release the seat back first. Then squat down and bend over to reach the manual seat positioner to get the seat in a position where my wife could get out. The ergonomics of this move was not very pleasing. This procedure had to be reversed to get her back into the car. My 98 Toyota truck has one lever for moving the seat and seat back to a position for easy entry and exit into the back seating area. All of this said I came home to my CS with a much added appreciation.

Always wondered why do they bother to put back seats in these cars. Guess for lack of something else to put there

A 911 is a 2 seater with 2 occasional seats in the rear for people under approx 10 yars of age maximum. So no surprise with your comments then.

this is what makes the cs so perfect--no useless back seats--extra convenient luggage space instead--carerra set up for luggage is not convenient

Re: Japan-3 people-1 week in a Carrera

If I want to take 4 people in a Porsche, I take my 928 GT

It's not perfect for 4 people, but has much more room in the back as even adults can sit back there for extended periods and be happy. They even have their own A/C, etc...
